The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

After the Dallas reboot (continuation), I was fully-expecting Knots Landing to be next.

Obviously the Hans Gruber prequel would take place at at school where his classmates, teachers, people in the neighborhood would include Cyrus "The Virus" Grissom, William Strannix, Joshua Foss, Francis X. Hummel, Ivan Korshunov, Dave Forbes, Martin Walker, Charles Rane and Kores Botha.

Lets not forget Hans had a brother. He was the bad guy in the third movie. They should do a prequel series were Hans and his brother are teenage grifters living in the streets of England. Doing petty crime and hooking up with the ladies and drinking and drugs and all that, and then a fancy rich Upper class criminal recruits them and becomes a father figure to them and turns them into more educated and sophisticated criminals. Their first big crime to steal something from the Queen of England.

If you like the heist genre, look in on Money Heist on Netflix. It's a Spanish production and is VERY good, IMHO.
I started watching that with my stepdad last weekend and I thought we could plow through it because it's only "5 parts" which turned out to be "seasons" and there's actually like 60-some episodes which we didn't catch onto at first lol. Since he'll only watch stuff if it's not subtitled I can vouch that they seem to do a good job with the dub.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I would have liked a final follow up to the Banderas movies. He's the same age as Hopkins in the first one and it might make up for how bad the sequel was. The first remains an all time fav action adventure film.

I love the character of Zorro but I don’t really see Wilmer as a swashbuckling lead. Then again, if Paul Rudd, Chris Pratt etc can play superheroes, I’m willing to give him a go.

And why would they strip him of what's unique about him? The great thing about Zorro is that it's part historical-fiction, part fantasy, and I'd say he does alright by just having a sword. He's a folk hero, which is more or less a superhero.
