The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

On one hand, Emilio does not say if he is vaccinated or not in that letter. Nor does he say if he agrees with the mandate or not, and he says he is "anti bullying" which is pretty common phrasing among the anti vax/anti mandate crowd as they position themselves as poor victims standing up to tyranny.

On the other hand, it's Disney. An evil multi national corporation who already pulled the "Disrespecting Covid!" card against a lead actor already with regards the ScarJo lawsuit, which turned out to be bullshit meant to smear her, causing them to quickly cave.

So:shrug:

If I had to give odds I'd say Emilio's carefully crafted letter makes it look like 2:1 E.E. is the problem vs. Disney.

Either way, it's an odd stance to take if one has had Covid, no?

I'd say so, but the letter is very careful to avoid any stance. He doesn't say either way if he is vaxxed or not, or if he is against the mandate or not. That's why I'm leaning towards him being the problem.

But Disney being Disney, and Disney having just illegitimately played the Covid card against ScarJo in an attempt to smear her, I can't fully discount the possibility it's Disney doing the same here again. Like I said, I'm going with 2:1 it's E.E..

probably mentioned already but Wonderful Wizard of Oz is getting redone supposedly next year. Then again so is a netflix adaptation called Rainbow. Land of Oz movie is in limbo, and doesn't look like DIsney is interested in Oz The Great and Powerful 2 anymore

Well, Franco is radioactive right now and it's been 8 years since the original, which I doubt most people even remember anymore. I didn't, until I read your post.

No doubt with machine guns this time in order to give Dorothy sufficient empowerment.
Modern revisions of Oz seem to be the thing still. I actually liked SyFy's "Tin Man" a few years ago. The concept was better than the realization but it still was ok. As all of these books drop into public domain more and more studios will attempt to make a movie or cartoon based on them.

well, if Emilio has Long Haul, then he can't get the vacine.. they say wait atleast 3 months to get the shot after you had it.

For Oz.. I'll belive it when its available to watch, and I'll decide then if its decent..

Yeah, I mean, if he's had Covid, why wouldn't you want as many people as possible to be vaccinated via a mandate to prevent further infections? He should, more than anyone else on the production, understand the need for it being mandatory. Even if he hasn't publicly made a stance, his behavior reflects too much of an anti-vaxxer who becomes infected and still is in denial. Yet he harps on about being anti-bully, as if it's supposed to be an personal imposition when Covid doesn't discriminate.

Reading an article, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista wanted to make a buddy cop movie, .. well thats not the remake.
in the article, it mentioned Jason will star in a Cliffhanger remake with him the lead.. Huh..

Edit:
Lets see, from 2019, said a Female led (Really?) reboot with Jason making a cameo? Him playing a villian would be cool to see.

Not unnecessary... Disney+ is reviving the '90s X-Men cartoon and will pick up where it left off. Several of the original voice actors are returning.

Paramount+ is doing tv series based on these movies:

Fatal Attraction, Flashdance, Love Story, The Parallax View and The Italian Job

https://tvline.com/2021/02/24/fatal-attraction-flashdance-tv-series-paramount-plus/

About the Fatal Attraction remake....geez, are they gonna make the husband the bad guy this time?

"Oh yeah, she's batshit insane and she put Fluffy in the stew, but it was totally his fault."

Shit, that'd be like blaming Captain Kirk for everything that happened in "The Turnabout Intruder".

Some stews are supposed to have rabbit in them. Did she not peel it first or something? I never saw Fatal Attraction all the way through, it came out when I was 14 or so.

What other Paramount movies can we turn into a TV series?

The Core -- Something is wrong the the planet and every week scientists have to drill to the center of the earth for completely different reasons.

Virtuosity -- Every week an VR program escapes into the real world to cause havoc and only one cop can stop them.
