The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

I haven't seen Days of Thunder since the cinema when it first came out. I remember expecting Top Gun 2 and being severely disappointed. Still it was one of my first introductions to Nicole Kidman (not sure if I saw this or Dead Calm first)

They played fast and loose with realism. NASCAR races don't really have that much rubbing but it didn't matter. It was all exciting and fun to watch.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear it didn't do well. I remember how much of a big deal the physical effects were at the time, and I've always felt it was a really good movie.
It came out during a summer where it had to compete with Ghost, Total Recall, Die Hard 2, BttF III and Pretty Woman. It might have just been bad timing.

As someone who's still never seen Henry, and likely never will, a sequel is unlikely to get me into a cinema

Double post again, sorry. Friday Night Lights is to be rebooted, focussing on a new team/school/cast

As long as it focuses on small town Texas High School Football then it might be good. Because that is what the whole point of both the book, movie and show was about.
