the TENTH time

I like the stories; interesting that couple already had a season set. And there ARE hotties in it. No lie there. I think I've been by myself maybe five times.

No, no, they got the DVD set *after* watching Star Trek.

I don't usually go to the movies by myself but, sometimes it's best since you can concentrate better on the movie. But it's a little lonely after the movie because you can't comment it with anyone on the way back home.

agreed, Sanae. I've been by myself once, and that's the only drawback to it.

Sanae, I've been rewatching TNG the last couple months. Today's episode was "Hollow Pursuits," and I'm beginning to see a pattern here. Let that be a lesson to me. Edit: those guys lost a lot of $$.

two words: alternate timeline!!
Don't make me go all dictionary on you.

Yeah, Rob! Don't go into the nebula!

okay, okay, three words then:

alter nate timeline.

:p

LOL!!! Can you imagine how much $$$ Jeri has spent on tickets and popcorn and soft drinks?? Well, I am at my tenth time, so I am just as guilty it seems..

Rob

Congratulations on seeing the tribble! And enjoying the show again. I'm at 16; I plan to go tonight again. I'm usually going twice a week now; I started out going every couple days.

Our IMAX actually added another screen time starting Friday; I was very pleasantly surprised. So there's a 7 p.m. show, in addition to the 9:45 one.

You beat me. I only made 15 so far. Perhaps on Friday I'll go again (if it's still playing). The last time I saw it (Saturday 10:30 a.m.) and there were 40 people in the theater. Most of them had obviously seen it more than once - and a few I recognized from other times I've seen it.

Average ticket price: 7.66$
Average popcorn: 4.95$
Average soda: 3.99$
Seeing the same movie more often than it's own director: priceless.

I'm going for an even dozen tonight at the closest IMAX!:vulcan:

Folks, it's cheaper than therapy.

I don't buy popcorn or drinks, I take a bag of almonds and a bottle of water in my purse - that and the movie are all I need to feed the obsession. I"ve been with friends for about half of those screenings, the rest I went to alone, after work (I'm a realtor, and I work long hours, especially in this market). But now that we're down to the hardcore at the IMAX showings, I feel like I'm going with Trek "family". It's a very happy and friendly audience.

And although I don't think of Indianapolis as a major movie market, it's playing on THREE IMAX screens here, the big one downtown twice daily and in the burbs at 9:30pm daily.

There's nothing else I really want to see on the big screen right now til HP comes out. Moon hasn't made it to the local art cinema. So I'm going tonight to get my hottie fix.

That was actually funny. It looks like I might be going tomorrow night, and then on Saturday. And (shhhhhhh) rumor has it that my theatre may get a sneak 'imax' screening of Transformers 2 instead of Star Trek....Ill keep you posted!!

But what will you look for on your 12th going? Have you seen R2D2? I did. I finally saw the damn tribble last time I went. I also spent more attention on the music too...I think this music score is pretty good!!!

Fifteen, sixteen times?:wtf:

Holy shit! I have been four times, and I thought I was a freak!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing. I'm just amazed. Towards the end of my third trip I was getting a bit sick of it, so I bow to your obviously greater love of Star Trek.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada--home to the biggest and best jazz festival in the world, great summer terraces for girl...uh, people watching ;) and, apparently, an excellent IMAX schedule for Trek.
I have always loved that city and miss her terribly. Give the old gal a kiss for me, please.

It's showing four times a day at our local IMAX. :p

Wow. Just, wow.

I'm sorry to say Thursday is the last afternoon showing here. On Friday it goes to two daily (morning & evening) in a regular theater, plus one very late IMAX just on Friday & Saturday.

Not really a surprise. Several weekdays I've managed to get away from the office to go the late afternoon showing and even last week there was a decent sized audience. On Monday there were only seven people.

Might only have one more week here.

Whaaa? Do you realize with all the money you've put into this you could buy yourself a pretty good BlueRay player and a copy of the film?

Meh, thats my husband's attitude. My feeling is, the bigger the better (screen, that is). I can totally immerse myself in the theater (as long as that nimrod with the popcorn can close his mouth when he chews)....its a little bit harder to get lost in the movie at home. with the husband. and the kids. and the dogs.

Crap! I'm going for the fourth time tonight, and now I feel so inadequate!
Don't feel bad. I was going to go with my wife for our anniversary. she had not seen it yet and it would've been my 2nd time. But my car broke down in the parking lot of the theater so I got it jump started and brought it home without seeing it. I had to put 250 bucks into the car and to this day my count is still one and I still cant talk to my friends about it in the same room as my wife cuase she still hasnt seen it. When i see all these people talkin bout ive seen it so many # of times i just think. Wow i wish i could go to that many movies in a year.
