The Teaser Trailer has arrived!!

Firstly, I doubt that the Bad Robot logo will be included with the film. Paramount hasn't let other production companies touch Star Trek at all during its 40 year history (except for very briefly on The Animated Series). I doubt that will change here.

The credits for TOS incuded a vanity credit for Roddenberry's "Norway Corporation" production company. And TMP's credits contained a vanity credit for "21st Century Productions". The only reason there haven't been production company credits in subsequent films, is that no outside production companies were involved. They were produced entirely within Paramount itself. I see absolutely no reason why "Bad Robot" wouldn't receive such a credit. In fact, if Abrams company developed any part of the production (which appears to be the case) it would be illegal to not give them a credit before the title.

"Okay so far i'm impressed.. If it could have the FX of TMP and the story of TWOK and the heart & soul of TOS...then that's A-OK"

I gotta correct that:

Okay so far i'm impressed.. If it could have the FX of TOS-R and the story of DS9 and the heart & soul of TOS...then that's A-OK.

TNG's opening is taken from the original Where No Man Has Gone Before opening.

Love the trailer!

Oh wait...

:scream:  :brickwall: :censored:

It already has.

Vreenak's such a useful guy. :rommie:

I hope that isn't the real trailer. Nimoy or whoever is doing the v.o. is way over-"acting" it. Dial it back, Leonard, we'd be hyped up if it were a monotone!

Noticed Quinto got billed before Pine. Is that real? Hmm.

Bablefish helpfully translated some of the Nazi Planet lingo:

The Voiceover of Leonard Nimoy is however, thank you identical to the reference, to the mono log at the end of star Trek 2: The anger punt. Therefore is to be assumed the Trailer is one, although very successful, falsification.

Um..did you not read this thread? The creator of the video stepped forward (two days ago already).

One thing re: the fan made trailer - ongoing mission?

That stuck out to me like a sore thumb.

Re: Teaser Trailer Debunked!

It strikes me as a fake, honestly. The planets where too... low budget. Good, but, obviously, not made at a huge expense. And the quality is just too good.

Re: Teaser Trailer Debunked!

I have to cringe at trekkies taking this shmock for real. If their standards are that low, it's no surprise Trek is going downhill with the general public. I mean, there used to be a time Trek fans were regarded as *more* demanding than this...

Re: Teaser Trailer Debunked!

The real trailer has to speak to the general audience. A star field and the Ent in space dock just wont cut it.

This trailer neads to have the same buzz making skills that the Cloverfield trailer had, or JJ might as well release the movie stright to DVD.

Re: Teaser Trailer Debunked!

Nice fan made trailer.

Although i expect the official trailer will be along the lines of......the camera zooming into a planet all the way down to Nimoy's face, the camera will hold in front of Nimoy for a few seconds while he utters the words "Fascinating" only for the camera to slowly go over his left shoulder to revel Shatner pushing the rocks away from his rock grave and climbing out uttering the words "I'm back Baby"....

Oh you know its coming....

It would be cool if Spock stopped by Veridian III while time-travelling and picked up Kirk to help him. That would leave Picard alone so Soran can finish kicking Picard's ass. :)

Well, those fans had done their homework. They made a really credible teaser trailer from all the rumors we've heard on the internet of what we can expect to see in the teaser.

But the Nimoy voice-over was a dead give-away...

I've been thinking about the various hints we've been given as to what this teaser trailer is going to look like and I have an idea. Picture this:

The Paramount logo. A one-note strain of ominous music. Fade to a view of Earth from orbit. A massive structure comes into view all around us. A pair of spacesuited figures float near a stanchion, welding it into place alongside rows of others that look like the ribs of a whale as seen from inside. A work pod of some kind drifts nearby, maneuvering a huge deck plate into place.

Our point of view receeds, puliing back into what looks like an unfinished corridor, the details flowing past us and off into the distance. We pass through a gap in a bulkhead and enter a larger chamber filled with giant conduits and powerful looking machinery, also under construction by more suited figures. All the while, the music is building in volume and portent.

Our point of view keeps moving backward. We enter what looks like a ventillation duct, twisting and turning to follow its contours. We pass through a series of skeletal compartments, flashing between wall and deck structures, beginning to drift upward now. We see a space that looks something like an empty swimming pool, followed by a huge, cylindrical chamber with a massive assemblage of magnets and coils and structural bracings. Remember, we are traveling backward through all of this.

Our point of view angles sharply upward, passing through patchwork decks and along piping and wiring trunks. We enter a shaft of some kind, then suddenly hug the wall as what looks like an elevator car falls past us. We come out into another corridor, this one largely finished, lined with bright red doors. We round a corner, flashing between more suited figures going about their construction tasks, the corridor curving now in what is obviously a wide arc.

Our point of view jinks sideways through an open doorway, passes through a series of compartments that might be crew quarters, into a service crawlway, up an angled tube lined with conduits, devices and a row of steps along the bottom. Out through a large space crisscrossed with a web of structural supports, through a large, multi-tiered room with dozens of tables but no chairs. More compartments filled with processing, recycling and ventilation machinery. By now it feels like we have traveled for miles.

Our point of view swoops left, then right, then angles upward through a hole in the deck into another straight corridor. The music is still building, taking on a tantalizingly familiar note as it rises toward an obvious crescendo. Suddenly we pass through another gap and out into sunlight. An expanse of light gray hull fills the screen, scattered with dark, irregular holes where plates are still missing. Another work pod flashes past us as a huge set of black markings on the hull begin to resolve themselves into letters dozens of feet tall: "NCC-1701". The music swells to a climax as the starship USS Enterprise, as we've never seen her before, floats before us in spacedock high above the Earth, her lines still unfinished but unmistakable.

Cut to black. The classic eight-note fanfare plays slowly, expectantly, as the title "STAR TREK" fades in, followed by "12.25.08" in smaller characters below. Fade out.

At least, that's how I'd do it. ;)

Temis, forgive me for being blunt, but I'm gonna call it.

That's pretty rude.

I know Germans and they are extremely bothered by being called "nazi" just because they're German.

Someone from Germany is a German. And the website where this fan-trailer was posted is a German site.

Some respect is due.

Thirty seconds of only Nimoy's face as Spock morphing into Quinto's face as Spock. When it's nearly over, Quinto's Spock raises an eyebrow.

Actually, if they want the teaser to truly tease NON-FANS, I'd hope they avoided sentimentality in it. That is, no TUC-type teaser. Let the teaser show the movie stands on its own and is not merely yet another (Y*A*W*N) film in the franchise.

Count me in. I'm German, part of my family fought in the war, part was Jewish and murdered by the Nazis. Everybody hates the Nazis here. So though I suppose she meant no harm, it is really, really offensive... like if we called all Americans stupid and fat (which is not true, of course. I'm a great fan of the US).

Well, having said that... as for the fake teaser... I liked it, but it wouldn't convince the general audiences if it were real.
