The single BEST SFX of STNG

I've always liked the purple nebula scenes from BOBW, especially once the Borg start wrecking up the place. Plus in between is that wonderful scene in Ten Forward with Picard and Guinan.
The nebula is actually reused footage from The Wrath of Khan.

The first one is in Redemption, and it's a rather simple scene. It's when The Enterprise, does a 180 by pivoting on its right nacelle pylon to leave the fight between the Klingons.

Do you make a tire-screeching sound whenever you watch that getaway?

Be honest. I know I do :)

No, but I now I will.:(

:guffaw:

Personally, I loved the decloaking Enterprise in the finale. From there, she jumps straight into combat against the Vorcha class cruisers

The different angles in which the Enterprise was destroyed in Cause and Effect. That was impressive.

Both cool too.

For me, I'll pick a couple of "quieter" shots - the jump to warp from inside Ten Forward in a S2 ep with Crusher and Guinan looking out (can't remember which one) and the E-D docking at Starbase in the Bynars S1 ep (I assume the effect was recycled from the TOS movies, but it still looks great).

The "frame of mind" fracture was cool, especially when I first saw it; almost everything in "Timescape" - and of course the robots from "Quality of Life".

Just kidding about the last one

Encounter At Farpoint, Part I when the ship separates and makes a high speed U-turn. Just awesome!

I do have to add the Enterprise collision, spin and explosion in Cause and Effect, and the inside of the Borg Cube in Q Who? and the vortex in Time Squared.

Tin Man has several good scenes, I liked when the Warbird flew past the Enterprise, and also near the end when Gomtu disappeared.

I'm glad some people are mentoning Time Squared. I thought the vortex scenes were also very good.

RAMA

Yeah, Tin Man had a lot of episode-specific shots that were great.

Another one that comes to mind is "Booby Trap" with the asteroid field.

I'd say either the Transporter beam, the ship stretching as it goes into warp or the fact you'd never tell they didnt have a yellow grid set for the holodeck...

The best SFX on that show: Relics. not just the recreation of the old bridge but the outer and inner shots of the Dyson Sphere. My jaw dropped at seeing the inside surface

my personal favorites are Qo'Nos see in Redemption and the snake can in Times Arrow, and the Enterprise decloaking in All Good Things...

I thought it was great how, over a decade later, the Halo games would depict each Halo as having an atmosphere and more on the interior, just like the inside of the Dyson Sphere in Relics.
