The Simpsons support whatever party is funniest at the time. Remember when Sideshow Bob ran for mayor and they had the whole "evil Republicans" thing? But, years earlier...

Yeah, but Bob is still expressing a Republican sentiment there, that Democrats are soft on crime. And it wouldn't be the first or last time a Republican has found it in his selfish interest to root for a Democrat. I just got a hilarious mailer from the Republican congressional incumbent in our district, who's suddenly trying to paint himself as an Obama ally even though he's been criticizing Obama for most of the race.

I gave it a below average because the Charlie Brown segment wasn't horrible, but the other two segments were just sad.

The Grand Pumpkin and Mad Men opening spoof were the highlights.

For the Mad Men spoof, the only highlights were the Charlton Heston commercial and the absurd way Homer killed Neil Armstrong. The other celebrity commercials really fell flat and didn't look like much effort was put into them.
