The Simpsons go HD

And at other times they seemingly have thousands of dollars to blow. I guess some of Homer's get-rich-quick schemes actually work off camera!

I read somewhere where Matt Groening said that the Simpsons are actually multi-millionaires, but they're constantly being sued because of Homer and Bart's antics.

I just think they are trying to fit too much in to the sequence, someone that hasn't ever watched The Simpsons before (lol) open to 3 characters they've never seen before, until they actually come to a main character :(.

They kept most things the same, but just added things in for the sake of doing it, like Grampa in the car, theres no need for it. Atleast the register when Maggie gets scanned is the same.

That's what I heard too - that Homer is very, very rich but is incredibly bad with money and has many legal judgements against him which he is slowly paying off.

Considering that he is a very successful recording artist and songwriter as well as the fact that he owns the Denver Broncos, that makes a lot of sense.

I wonder how long it'll be until there's a shot by shot comparison...

:D

didn't home once mention that the average settlement for one of his antics was something like $63,000 or something

I like about half the changes, hate the other half. Considering how rarely I watch the show, it doesn't really affect me much, though.

I rarely watch the Simpsons anymore. Hasn't been funny or relevant in years, but this new opening sequence looked pretty good and it was nice to see all the new secondary and tertiary characters and quarternary characters added to the sequence. It looked pretty darn good, esp compared to the old sequence, and really shows off how much the art-style of the series has changed after the years upon years of the series' growth.

Looked good, interesting to see in HD that you can see how much Maggie "rings up" as.

She's gone down in price...I seem to remember some years ago a post pointing she was over $800. Of course to make an 8 with that type of display means to engage all of it and maybe that's what they saw.

But kids just aren't worth what they once were. I only got $1,450 for my 4-year-old niece. :(

It's good to see the opening getting an update, it was fine with the older episodes, but it didn't look that great on the newer ones.

That's hilarious. Now that's how you change a title sequence! And the couch gag was great.
