It's true: I stopped watching The Simpsons after the first 10 or so years just like I stopped reading Garfield after he stopped being a cat (granted, less than 10 year). Edited to add: Turns out Garfield started doing that after just a few years, but I maintain my point.In a way I have a certain grudging respect for the fact that Groening, Fox, et al, found a way to create the animated version of one of those legacy comic strips that clog up print newspapers, long after the original creator(s) retired/died and long after the product was funny or relevant (see, e.g. Beetle Bailey, Blondie, the Family Circus, etc.)
