News Netflix to buy Warner Brothers

The fact that Netflix's stock has dropped about 30% since they announced this deal may influence how this is eventually resolved.

I doubt it. Stock will always fluctuate when money is moved around, and I'd bet the stocks would go down even further if Paramount were to try a hostile takover.

From what I understand, Netflix has made deals with Spotify and other podcast companies, acquiring podcasts on YouTube that have over 100 episodes each. They've taken the last 10-15 episodes as "old episodes" and added them to the US market, while the rest are new episodes. Also, all the old episodes of these podcasts are still available on YouTube.

You know, Netflix could be good for the DCU because they have no problem setting $200 million on fire for Dwayne Johnson and the Russo Brothers, then doubling down and saying they'd green light those movies all over again if given the choice.

From what I've gathered from those watching the court proceedings on Twitter, the discussion isn't so much about the platform being a monopoly, but rather about Netflix being a left-leaning platform and the report prepared by MAGA.

Exactly, and in other words, the right want to control everything, so Paramount being right-leaning want to seize the opportunity to bring it in line with the current regime. That is why they've been hostile towards the Netflix-WBD merger and are actively trying to block it.
