Count me on the red is best front! Kate is too fair for blonde. But it may be that its is the best way to cover the you-know-what!
I was surprised to read that Kate herself was to be a delegate at the Democratic convention, although I had heard that Tim was. What a disappointment to miss it, especially with all the Kennedys in attendance. And of course sad for whatever was the family emergency.
Nice to know that Ian is interested in acting and that perhaps he now understands the long hours his mother spent on the Voyager set. He was with Kate when we saw her at the stage door in LA after Royal Family. He has her build and coloring (which means naturally brown hair!) He seemed like a nice young man in the few minutes we saw him.

I'm no fan of the blonde put Kate doesn't look too bad in that pic, still mighty purdey, bit better than the other pics of her at a con a while back with blonde hair.
P.S- Oooh, it seems dearest Kate generated some controversy in Vegas with her politicalness. Any thoughts?
If I'd have gone I'd have expected it. It's nearly election time and she's a rather passionate Democrat so of course she'd have a lot to say about it.

I happen to agree with Kate's politics and think it is certainly OK to update fans about what she's doing and even why she feels the way she does. But urging fans to vote for a specific candidate is not proper.
Those of us who are Kate fans aren't surprised by her views (or the fact that she can't stop herself from expressing them!), but this was a huge con with fans of many other Trek stars, who probably didn't expect to or want to hear one of the actors to ask them to vote a certain way.
Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Sean Penn, and Martin Sheen are also actors I admire, but I don't think they should use the Acadmeny Awards Ceremony, or other venues, as a platform for their views any more than Kate should use a convention to celebrate Trek as a platform for her politics.

Agreed Susan. I'm absolutely OK with Kate's alzheimer's promotion. Increasing awareness of illness is a good thing. However, when it comes to the political thing she should just keep it shut. I agree with her politics but must admit, if Kate were at a UK con & started promoting the Tory/Conservative party I would be mighty pissed off.

Gotta chime in again here and agree. Trek cons mixed with directorial politics is a no-no. The odd off-the-cuff remark is fine cos we're all a part of this world and we all have political views, Trek actors included, but concerted electioneering beyond general encouragment to use our vote (on whatever party/candidate we choose) is just wrong. Maybe even an abuse of trust and position imho. Yeah, okay, so Kate is Kate and she's passionate about politics cos her hubby is a politician, so I can forgive her, but I'm not really comfortable with the idea of a Trek con and Trek fans being subverted (however mildly) in order to serve one person's personal agenda. Cons are struggling to break even as it is, and each year more and more dates disappear from the con calendar. Turning fans off by turning cons into mini-political rallies can only make things worse, cos of course the other side will come to believe they have a right to give their views to fans, too. Yeah,no politics in the conventions. Not cool. Not what she's there for.
I certainly prefer the red, but the blonde is okay, too. I think she looks nice here.

^ I love that pic from More Magazine. I happen to have a bigger scan of that pic. I just love Kate's face in it, given she looks fresh and beautiful.

Oh, I love that pic! Although it's one of those pics where I have to look twice to make sure it's Kate for some reason. Maybe it's the eyeliner?

Having just met her in person, I can truthfully say that while she still looks hot, blomde does her MO favors.
