The Reign of Terror Coming to DVD

Atticus

As tweeted today, "as complete as can realistically be achieved."

Doesn't sound like animation to me but I'm still thrilled. Hopefully this means Ice Warriors and Tenth Planet won't be too far behind... :techman:

Mmh, two of six episodes missing and no animation? Doesn't sound like it'll sell much, to be honest.

It'll be a tough one, especially considering most of the action takes place in eps 4 & 5.

I was always hoping a Marco Polo ep would be found and could be released with this story, but I guess now that's not gonna happen (just gonna have to find the whole lot and have a separate release :)).

That said, the first episode actually blew me away at how good it was. Can't remember the rest of it though.

I was really hoping that BBC Video would hold off on releasing these stories for as long as possible, giving extra time either for the missing episodes to be rediscovered or to scrounge up the money for animated replacement episodes.

We don't know that there won't be animation.

"as complete as can realistically be achieved" sounds like animation to me, since anything LESS than animation wouldn't be "as complete as can be realistically achieved" as far as I am concerned.

I figure they would have said animation if they had done it. "As complete as can be expected" just sounds like slapping any stills, telesnaps and surviving material together to the soundtrack to me.

Which would still be better than the audio-only versions of the missing episodes of "The Crusade" & "The Moonbase" that they did on the Lost in Time collection. Speaking of which, my biggest pet peeve about the Lost in Time DVDs is that they didn't include any linking segments to clue us in on what had been happening in the story so far and how they story ended. Something as simple as a page or 2 of text narration would have been very welcome.
