Spoilers The Red Suit

The suit is just a little too far into crazy tech to be buried. I mean, the suit can go anywhere in the galaxy (universe), at any time. I'm sure the suit can be lost, but not all the research that likely went into it.
The suit can do a lot of things but it requires either dark matter (which they ran into once, and which so far hasn't been seen in Trek again, or a Supernova, which is never around when you need one.

They needed the power of a supernova to catch the suit, yet technobabbled their way around it. No reason they can't technobabble their way around what is required to make it work.

Contrary to Tilly's very obviously uninformed belief, Dark Matter isn't really that rare...
Dark matter has never been proven to exist, though it fits in the current standard model. So yes, it shoud not be rare but it may be very difficult to obtain, and as nonbaryonic matter probably woun't be something you'd just pick up in a space nugget. Shall we continue to discuss?

Why don't you just keep inflating your ego and tell me what it says as if you wrote it. I like to pretend these replies are being spoken in a kind of Discount-George Sanders voice.

Oh, I didn't know you were incapable of using a mouse, my bad.

Dark Matter in Star Trek is known, has been scientifically studied, and is readily available in any number of mapped easily accessible locations.

Much better. And apparently this is not the same dark matter.

No, it's exactly the same, they even name dropped the metreon particles necessary to see it.

You gotta remember, Tilly never actually passed Star Fleet Academy, she was promoted half way through because of the Discovery's accomplishments during Klingon war.
