I really don't get why so many are annoyed by this. Lol.

Because TNG set a precedent where not only did the Enterprise have to be the biggest and best starfleet class, but it had to be the flagship too.

The Enterprise-B was an Excelsior because it was the new standard ship class being built, presumably the same as the Enterprise-C.

As I said before..the Enterprise being a little bit of an underdog creates *better* story opportunities, not less.

I agree. It opens the door for things like being given a routine assignment to deliver supplies to a colony and finding something bigger along the way.

I had seen one come up on Twitter in the "More Tweets" section, but it was a strictly fan-created one. Perhaps someone saw it and mistook it for a real BTS image?

If they made a dedication plaque, it probably said ‘U.S.S. Picard.’

Its still silly. Not a fan of renaming it the Enterprise. Especially after giving the letter designation to the Titan.
