The Psi Phi collection thread for favourite characters and scenes

Best Scene:

Odo's first encounter with Kira Nerys in his laboratory as a newly formed. She was what, 10 years old, running through, just a brief glimpse? This could also go in with the Gallitep scene.

I also want to have a runner up being the Ra-Havreii scene where he whispers that Will is alive to a Deanna that is barely holding it together.

Best New Character has to be Darrah Mace, tragic circumstances for he and his family. Yes, I am an Inyx fan, but Mace seemed more a person that I can relate with.

For 2009, I'd like to nominate Sonek's meeting with Donatra in A Singular Destiny for Best Scene.

I don't know if she's eligible, but Mirror-T'Prynn is an awesome character.

I'd also like to nominate the sneak attack on Mirror Starbase 47 as one of the best scenes of 2009.

One other scene, I've never seen a friendly fire scene in Star Trek quite like the one in Destiny. On the borg ship, it was a surreal moment when, viewed through the eyes of the one responsible, several starfleet officers are taken out by fellow officers.

The impact of the scene has to rate up as one of few where I've sat back and just let my jaw drop.

What other friendly fire scenes have there been?

I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that this thread is actually set up for new books that we want to be considered for this year's Psi Phi awards.

that book did come out in 2008.

well, whatever year this thread is for, that scene should win some sort of award.

Kadohata is one of the 2007 nominees for Best New Character.

Since we're far enough into 2009 that most people will have had a chance to catch up on the 2008 books, look for a thread with more information about the 2007/2008 Psi Phi Awards in the next couple days.

Yeah, I realize that now. I must have misread the title of the book, or it was late and I was really tired.

Destiny had a ton of amazing scenes; my personal nomination would be where Inyx asks Hernandez to live because he's selfish and wants her around. For whatever reason, that relationship seemed so real to me at that moment.

Full Circle has so many scenes that could qualify for nomination because the entire book is that well-written. To list a few: Chakotay learning of Janeway's death, Cambridge's first counseling to Tom and B'Elanna, Chakotay's first visit to Seven after Irene Hansen's death, and the launch of the Delta Quadrant expedition.

New characters for consideration: Hugh Cambridge and Afsarah Eden

Another best scene nomination: Picard and Akaar's last conversation in Losing the Peace

New character: Berlis from Troublesome Minds

I did like Open Secrets a lot, but nothing just popped for as being suitable for a nomination. Any ideas from other readers?

Harry and Libby's big- final- scene gets my vote.
