I just had a thought after the eveents of the new movie. I'm not taking it seriously since it's just a movie but I had a intersting thought. With the alternate timeline, would it mean the Bajoran Prophets will have to exert more effort to ensure Ben sisko is born, by possessing his ancestors to ensure he would exist. Maybe as far as make sure the people we saw in DS9 will exist so the events of DS9 would happen. Since all of this is for Bajor.

Being highly advanced aliens to begin with, they can easily manipulate the events to make sure Sisko is born in this new time-line.
Although keep in mind that with the historical changes that ensued within the Federation, DS9 may never come to be.

It really depends on how the changes within the Federation affected the Cardassians (if they did).
