'The Prisoner (1967)' Name Badges

Queen Mab

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
Trying to make up some 'The Prisoner (1967)' badges.

I wonder if anyone could help me..
From googeling i see a lot of variations and its been a while since I watched the show.

I wonder if there was a pattern to the differences? Did characters wear a certain type up to a certain ep for example? Did diff badges mean dif things? or was it all random?

Some have the bicycle facing right.

Some have the bicycle facing left.

6 is shown to have a Solid '6' here.. did he have a bicycle logo when he wore a regular badge or was this standard?

Also, i found some shots where people has white on black badges as shown above..

I know 'The Prisoner (1967)' wasn't about explaining everything, but thought I'd ax before I started anything.

Cheers.

^This picture is NOT a usual number badge. This is from Free For All, when he was in the "election." It's a political-campaign button someone pinned on him; it's not his usual number-pin.

The characters usually wore the white circular button, with the penny farthing bicycle and the number in the center.

eta: You didn't hotlink those pictures, did you?

Yes, I realise that. Thats why I asked "did he have a bicycle logo when he wore a regular badge or was this standard?"

I never noticed the different-facing bicycles before!

Aside from that election badge I don't recall them ever actually explaining what each style meant.

The fanfiction novel Think Tank, published by the main Prisoner fan club in the UK, added another twist: the badges in the post-Fall Out story had the image of a windmill and used letters and short words instead of numbers.

In the series, he refused to wear his number badge at all. He was given the standard white badge, but wouldn't wear it. He was "not a number," after all. Do a Google image search and you'll see 6 without a badge at all in many screencaps.

And, just to let you know, hotlinking photos is a definite no-no. You'll notice the above photo has been saved to photobucket .
From the FAQ:
... you should only include inline images from web space that you own, or with the permission from the webmaster on which the image is located to avoid what results in costly bandwidth theft to the originating site owner.

Post Fall-Out? Is that an episode?

^"Fall Out" is the series finale.

And the trilogy of Prisoner Appreciation Society novellas written by Roger Langley (Think Tank/When in Rome/Charmed Life, recently republished privately as Prisoner Trilogy) take place after Fall Out (as does the DC graphic novel Shattered Visage and at least one, possibly all 3 of the official novels published in the late 1960s). I don't know where the Powys Media novels by Lance Parkin, Andrew Cartmel and others fall.
