The Prime Alternative

This version of the Enterprise is everything that the new Enterprise should've been. It is very respectful of the original Enterprise, and updates it reasonably - new phaser turrets (sorry, Matt Jeffries, one set of phasers is dangerous in space. Someone could hide aft of the saucer and never be in danger.), additional details on the saucer, impulse engines, and all over.

This, Deg3D, and Vektor - all 3 versions of the original Enterprise that do it justice. Keep up the great work!

Thanks JJohnson for all the kind words : ) … we really appreciate all the support we have received for this PA Project!

Have to say I prefer the TMP Enterprise Deflector "lighting modes" - this is a little too xmas tree for my liking. All else is good though. ;)

As for the interiors of the PA-Enterprise, what have you thought of in that area of the ship? Would you update the interiors to something less cavernous than we saw in TOS? And something less iPhone-lense-flare-tastic than in ST09?

I'm trying to draw out what I would do to update the interiors, and your ship served as an inspiration for respecting the original designs and intent, but moving the ship forward at the same time.

For Our PA Bridge, as an example, Ricky and I are thinking more like a mash-up between the Kobayashi maru bridge set seen in ST09 and the Cage Bridge, but with a much larger main view screen : )

And here is one of our Prime Alternative screen animations, which is a mash-up of STV1 screen and ST09 screen

That Vimeo sample was impressive! I wish I could rotoscope and CG that well (I can do neither). That would definitely be something close to a more modern TOS bridge. I'd open up the top of the bridge, have fewer touchscreens for main paneling, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. And no lens flares blinding the crew is always a plus!

Agreed!...that's the direction were going with the PA Enterprise Bridge -and Yes, definitely no puck lights on our bridge :)

Got it : ) ... and thanks!
Ricky and I did research everything written on the original TOSE for about 3 months before working-out all our PA additions to the original design - And we found an old reference (a rumor) that the original TOS model was suppose to have a light source for the three concentric rings behimd the dish. - so this is the direction we took -- we then drew on the cannon design cues/color used for the NX, TOS-Refit, the "D" and "E" main deflectors

We had made several draft versions for our PA Enterprise main deflector using the dish from other ships...but wanted to keep the original TOS dish and just updated it a bit; creating a possible design predecessor to the Big D and Big E Dish design...

Also, as the lights in our deflector array are embedded inside the concentric rings, the FX effect does look completly diffrent when viewed from all other angles, other than stright on, -and depending on "Light mode" being used.

Ah, an engineering hull that isn't ridiculously undersized and isn't slung too far forward....I miss those days in starship design...along with ships that don't try to fit a brewery in the same space as engineering using time-lord technology...

Ah, another post that uses something the topic is about to throw in another shitdump towards Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness...I miss those days in forumdiscussions....where people would actually post about the topic itself, instead of using it as a jumpboard for yet another post about hating JJ's Star Trek. :D

Why can't people simply comment on this design IN ITSELF, without immediatly commenting on the Enterprise-design from that film.

Thanks JJohnson : )
AND...our PA engineering hull is exactly the same design dimensions as Matt Jeffries TOSE

But was thinking that Winston Smith's Very Cool interior design for his TOS engine room design ("which echos the design of the TOS engine room while also taking stylistic cues from the nu-enterprise sets") Would work well for the interior of our PA Enterprise lower engine room...don't ya think? : )
