The power of a Time Lord

Mr. Sin

Commander
It's been mentioned a few times that the Doctor has some powers beyond of course the long lifespan & regeneration.

Telepathy is probably the most obvious. It seems in both the classic series and new that the Time Lords are at least partially telepathic (and this was established in the novels as well). This is especially true in the multiple Doctor episodes where the Doctors are able to merge their minds ("Contact" "We must be one!" and the Sixth Doctor able to contact the Second over a distance of space but probably not time).

There was of course the Doctor's Venusian Akido, but that was more of a learned skill.

The Seventh Doctor had a few odd abilities-in Rememberance of the Daleks he was able to 'feel' injuries with a slight touch, and in Survival he stuns a man by putting his finger on his temple (Complete with weird sound effect).

The novels also had the concept that the various personas of the Doctor-old and to be-exist in the Doctor's mind in a form of "storage." On some ocassions the Doctor is able to 'channel' a past incarnation without regenerating, for instance (And this actually happens a few times in the classic series, most notably in Castrovalva, and even in the new Tennant initially displays some Eccleston attributes, such as "It'll be "Fantastic" and his behavior).

Then of course there's hypnotic power. The Doctor seems to be able to use a degree of it, but the Master seems the expert. While the Delgado version seems to do it almost effortlessly, Ainley (and to a degree Pratt and Beevers) frequently needed mind control devices (Like in Logopolis)
or used a watch or something like that. We also see Roberts seemingly posess Grace, but it seems to be connected to the 'slime' he vomited at her....and of course Simm has the Archangel network (According to RTD in the Utopia commentary, Jacobi also displays the ability when he "first" sees the Doctor, causing the Doctor a minute of hesitation). It's also possible he used hypnotism on Lucy to corrupt her, and we see him try to do this again during his ressurection (Yelling the classic Master line, "You will obey me"!).

Simm 2.0 of course has the lightning powers, but that's mainly because of his botched ressurrection....

It seems Time Lords also have the ability to 'project' themselves as apparations, sometimes as between-regeneration personas (Such as Choe Je/K'Anpo, and in the Doctors case, the Watcher and probably the Valeyard). We also see the unidentified time lady in End Of Time able to use a similar ability, but with no apparent regeneration.

In End Of Time we also have the Time Lady (Or sisterhood of Karn?) prophet lady, so prophecy might also be a skill of some time lords.

So any other time lord powers I forgot, or anything like that?

The Doctor is able to perceive fixed points in time as well as points in flux. He also seems to have some kind of limited knowledge of possible future events.

In addition, the Doctor can allegedly feel the turn of the Earth. :)

^On that, much like a migrating bird can sense the Earth's magnetic field, I think Time Lords can feel their relative position in space and time, at least on a local level.

There's all the biofeedback stuff they can do as well: stopping hearts, surviving for extended periods on a single breath, metabolising cyanide with just a jar of pickled walnuts, ginger beer, anchovies and a quick game of tonsil-hockey... ;)

I think a lot of his powers are derived form the interaction with the tardis.. since they are linked..Artron energy and so on..though i know that Rassilon was the most powerful psychic ever..except he could not see the future..

In The End Of The World didn't the Doctor do some kind of time-slowing thing when he walked through the fan blades?

I wonder if any/all of these abilities could be attributed to the Doctor's connection to the TARDIS, rather than anything innate.

Kind of like Guinan's Nexus echo, a connection to somewhere outside of time/space.

I'm not sure what you'd call it, but there's the rejuvenation/flying/whatever thing that the Tenth Doctor did at the end of The Last of the Time Lords powered by the entire planet thinking about him all at once. Ridiculous, but definitely a power.

Ten had the sense of supertaste, which I bet would beat Wolverine's. Hey, if Daredevil can have supertouch, then why not?

Also, I believe I've read somewhere that Time Lords are stronger than one would expect on average, though not superhumanly so. Additionally, they have a certain durability to radiation and/or immunity to certain kinds of radiation, though obviously that durability can be overloaded.
