Spoilers The Picard-Troi reunion scene was VERY touching!

I don't have access to CBS All Access or Amazon Prime so I can only watch sporadic clips of PIC on YouTube. But I've been watching that clip of Troi trimming her bushes. Her daughter, Kestra, calls out to her running up to her, and there comes Picard just walking toward her.

I like how they didn't run up to each other all excited and tightly hugging each other because that would've made it tacky and cheesy. But it was slow and nicely-paced and to me that's what made that scene pure gold! I mean, they haven't seen each other since... presumably 2379 (Star Trek: Nemesis) and this series is set in 2399? Yeah. I love when old friends are reunited after so many years apart.

Also, from the other clips I have seen, PIC has a different feel to it than anything else Star-Trek-related that I've watched, and what I mean by that is, here on PIC, we got Picard, Riker, and Troi reunited and it felt so good. But so many years have passed. They've obviously aged and Troi and Riker live in some cabin house in the woods lol. But aside from the Picard-Riker-Troi stuff, this the "different feel" is it barely even feels like Star Trek, but more like a futuristic-set series. Well, of course it would be if it's set in the year 2399 but it just feels drastically different. Also, having watched TNG as a very young child, it makes ME feel a little old seeing Picard, Data, Riker, and Troi on this show. It has this effect on me that I can't quite place my finger on.

But I LOVE the scene with Picard and Troi's embrace. It was very beautiful and dramatic. THE BEST scene I've seen in this show so far!

"Nepenthe" was definitely Marina Sirtis best turn as the Troi character. But they have seen each other since the wedding. Kestea knew who Picard was on sight and we see a pic of Picard with the Troi-Riker's first kid.

I never liked Riker and Troi and grumbled when I heard they'd be in this show, but it was beautifully done.

There are some great character moments in Picard; I won't spoil the others in case you get around to watching eventually.

Riker's reaction was also very touching, and seeing the D ever so briefly but majestically glide in, and the last few minutes of the season...

I loved the ep I thought she was a bit cold to Picard after he made sarcastic joke to Soji. It's weird that Troi didn't react when Soji pushes him. This android she barely knows could have seriously injured her old friend who is already ill. It showed that Soji is capable of violence when something upsets her and they just laugh it off.

Troi sensing Jean-Luc's pain and illness was a beautiful piece of non-verbal acting. I thought Jonathan and Marina were wonderful. Did we ever learn why Marina didn't get Special Guest Star billing?

Picard had it coming.

Rude words dont make it ok to shove someone. Nobody would say that if she shoved Troi. It was a weird thing for a former counselor to say

At least Riker still had his back that was nice of him

I loved the reunion, too. I liked Riker far better than before. (Not that I ever hated him.)

Troi got more and better material than ever on TNG! But I had to laugh so hard about the fact that apparently she was doing even her gardening in high heels...

All the way through episode 7 I had been completely unimpressed by the show, and given that Riker and Troi were to be in Nepenthe I assumed that this was going to be a fan service episode. I suppose that in some ways it was, but I felt like the interactions were handled gracefully and believably, and in the end this was the only episode of the series which II enjoyed.

Nepenthe is my favorite episode of Picatrd season 1.I really liked how Riker and Deanna and Kestra were portrayed in this episode. And the reunion scene with Picard is one of the best parts of the entire series so far.

I thought Kestra stole the series. The scenes between here and Soji were the only real character development that Soji got, and beautifully done.
