I don't have access to CBS All Access or Amazon Prime so I can only watch sporadic clips of PIC on YouTube. But I've been watching that clip of Troi trimming her bushes. Her daughter, Kestra, calls out to her running up to her, and there comes Picard just walking toward her. I like how they didn't run up to each other all excited and tightly hugging each other because that would've made it tacky and cheesy. But it was slow and nicely-paced and to me that's what made that scene pure gold! I mean, they haven't seen each other since... presumably 2379 (Star Trek: Nemesis) and this series is set in 2399? Yeah. I love when old friends are reunited after so many years apart. Also, from the other clips I have seen, PIC has a different feel to it than anything else Star-Trek-related that I've watched, and what I mean by that is, here on PIC, we got Picard, Riker, and Troi reunited and it felt so good. But so many years have passed. They've obviously aged and Troi and Riker live in some cabin house in the woods lol. But aside from the Picard-Riker-Troi stuff, this the "different feel" is it barely even feels like Star Trek, but more like a futuristic-set series. Well, of course it would be if it's set in the year 2399 but it just feels drastically different. Also, having watched TNG as a very young child, it makes ME feel a little old seeing Picard, Data, Riker, and Troi on this show. It has this effect on me that I can't quite place my finger on. But I LOVE the scene with Picard and Troi's embrace. It was very beautiful and dramatic. THE BEST scene I've seen in this show so far!
