Since the remastered version of "The Omega Glory" was released this past week, allow me to present to you another version of "The Omega Glory."
Captain Ronald Tracey, in command of the U.S.S.
Exeter arrives at planet Omega IV when the ship's sensors pick up another Starfleet vessel already in orbit.
"On screen" says Captain Tracey. The viewscreen displays the image of the U.S.S.
Enterprise circling the M-class planet. However, the sensors only read the ship, no life forms aboard.
Taking a landing party aboard the
Enterprise, Tracey's team finds no sign of the crew, only this log message left behind by chief surgeon, Dr. Leonard McCoy, who warns whoever plays back the log that if they've come aboard the
Enterprise, they're dead men and implores them not to go back to their own ship. He begins to tell of how Captain Kirk is still on Omega IV, but, before he can finish, he is overcome by disease.
Captain Tracey finds Dr. McCoy's remains scattered on the floor of the bridge, his flesh crystalized down.
Captain Tracey beams down to Omega IV to find that Captain Kirk has disobeyed the Prime Directive and is interfering in the natural evolution of the inhabitants on the planet.
Fortunately, Tracey is able to thwart Kirk's efforts and places him under arrest. The
Exeter departs Omega IV, but makes a quick stop-over at Tantalus V Penal Colony where Dr. Simon Van Gelder apparently has gone nuts again.
The End.
