Can we just take a moment to appreciate the perfect casting job that was done for each of these main feature characters each season? These actors were so well casted that their performances have basically defined their respective seasons (Season 3 just started but based on one episode I’m already going to go ahead and say Ajala is a perfect choice as well).

Well done to the casting directors and producers! And of course a big kudos to each of these actors as well!

I would have preferred Lorca/Jason Isaacs without the hair piece. Casting overall for the show has been excellent, but this has generally been the case for all Trek.

I think sometimes we can take it for granted because it’s usually so good that we just expect that standard now.

I will add that Mount was so good that he ended up getting his own show.

I’d throw in Cornwell too. Her scenes with Isaacs were some of my favorite parts of season 1. There was a weariness to their interactions that felt very adult and real. The casting, overall, has been very good. I know some folks give SMG flak, but I don’t think anyone could sell some of the material she’s been given.

The casting in DSC has been A+ across the board. I can’t think of one complaint I’d have. They are all awesome and seem to also love being a part of Star Trek.

For all the flaws this show has had, casting has never been one of them. Everyone has pretty much been tier one acting talent.

Um... I don’t follow what you mean by hair piece?

That was Isaacs‘ own hair in Discovery - at least it’s the same as what he has when out of character - or am I missing something here?

It's an extraordinary cast and -- yes -- the "big guests" each season have been among the greatest examples of that. (Here's hoping Book isn't a one-season wonder... but if he is, damn, I'll miss him.)

I found it distracting. In an ideal world casting could have said get rid of it, just like they might say to someone with facial hair. Understandable why they didn't.

Maybe prime Lorca will returns and he'll be bald

I liked his Lucius Malfoy hair, myself. Starfleet needs a male human officer with a ponytail.

Prime Lorca is stuck in a series of realities with the OA pretending he's either a psychologist or an actor named Jason Isaacs

Casting, across the board, is one of the show's few strengths.

the book character is terrible. No amount of casting could have made his character interesting

I seem to notice that everyone on any trek forum , fans cant stop talking about how good-looking or hot Book is. that is going to be a good distraction regardless of how his story turns out:adore:

I was told by a friend that I look like a more handsome version of him.

I will hit the next London Trek convention dressed in a long black leather coat and let you know how it goes

Casting has always been top notch on CBS Trek.
