The Outpost--new fantasy series

The show is getting slightly under a million views, which is a bit on the low side, but not so terrible as to warrant instant cancelation.

For comparison, Arrow (the lowest rated Berlanti show) is getting slightly over a million... It's doing about 15-20% better than Containment, which is a rare CW show that got canceled.

What is it with you and women's outer appearances? Ever hear of #metoo???

No buddy, you don't get to hijack that movement. That movement is about identifying yourself as someone who has suffered sexual harassment or even assault. You don't get to use it on someone attracted to an actress on a message board.

Also he clearly has you (and me, and half this board) blocked.

The Outpost runs on SyFy internationally, so if the CW drops it, there's always a chance they might pick it up.

Yep, Dean Devlin also announced it on Facebook this afternoon.

So we will NOT be left on that cliffhanger, thank goodness.

I wasn't sure what to make of this based off the trailers, but this thread has inspired me to check this out once it's up on Netflix.

So is this worth watching? I missed it when it was on before, but I followed the conversation on here and it sounded like it could be fun. They've reposted the first season on The CW website as a lead up to the Season 2 premiere in a couple weeks, and I was trying to decide if I want to try to get caught up.

I enjoyed Season One. It's kinda a throwback to the old syndicated fantasy-adventure shows of the nineties like Xena and Sinbad and the like. Looking forward to Season 2.

It's not brliant, but it's okay. I think the lead actress is staggeringly gorgeous, but tastes may differ.
Uh...yeah she is beautiful (why does Christopher ALWAYS mention a woman's look - if they are beautiful???)..but don't like her personality.

However I really like the supporting cast, especially the scientist.

As Greg said...a Dena type of show...i guess worth binging if you arent watching much of something else..to help catch you up..

It turns out they're pulling it in 6 days, and I don't really feel like trying to rush through when I'm already working on getting caught up on Siren and Fear the Walking Dead, so I'm just gonna skip it for now.

It should be on the CW site/app as well. It wouldn't hut to at least see the 1st couple of episodes to get an idea of what is going on... one of the later episodes would be important too

I was going to watch it on The CW website, that's where I saw the warning that it's being pulled in 6 days. I might just wait and see if it pops up on Netflix or Amazon Prime later, or just buy it off Amazon if it's not outrageously expensive.
I just don't really want to rush through it, and I don't want to jump around, so I'll just wait for now.

Since I wasn't able to watch Season1, could somebody maybe give me a quick recap of what I would need to know to jump into Season 2 tonight?
I tried looking around online, but couldn't find any decent recaps.

There's like an Evil Empire, the titular Outpost is where The Rebellion is brewing. There's a One True Queen there, a Right Proper Knight, a Sciency Barkeep and a Badass Rogue Lady that's the last of her kind that can summon demons from another dimension. There's also some Orcs that make some Drugs that turn some People into some Zombies.

There's also some other characters but I vaguely recall a bunch of fakeout deaths so I don't really remember who's actually alive or dead there anymore. :D

Turns out the Season 1 DVD is only $9.99US on Amazon, but it doesn't come out til August 6. I was really surprised when I saw that, the digital version is $19.99, and there's usually not that big of a price difference between the two version.

That's a pretty good summary. Adding to it: The Evil Empire is after the Badass Rogue Lady because of a prophecy that she will ultimately destroy them by raising an army of demons (which is why they exterminated her people). And, oh, there's a love triangle involving the One True Queen, the Right Proper Knight, and the Badass Rogue Lady, with the nerdy Sciency Barkeep on the outside looking in. And the Badass Rogue Lady is only just learning how to summon demons, which is kinda a dangerous thing to play around with.

And the local Bar is owned by a Saucy Female Innkeeper who has her fingers in all sorts of illegal activities.

And there's also a Spooky Little Girl, with psychic powers, who is More Than She Seems.

I just saw on Wikipedia that Robyn Malcolm from the New Zealand TV series Outrageous Fortune is in it. I watched the first few episodes of that back when it was on Hulu and really enjoyed it. It also had Lost, True Blood, and Defiance's Grant Bowler on it as her character's husband.

And you guys forgot that Rogue Lady is not human, but some kind of magical race, i think nicknamed Black Bloods..and Rogue Lady is still discovering her powers, which include self healing

Just watched the premiere, that was pretty good. A little cheesy maybe, but just cheesy enough to be fun. I didn't see in the recap, who was it that freed Dread? Was the guy who died in the beginning a major character?
