THE ORVILLE Season Three...

That's rather misleading. The talk is beyond season 3. Meanwhile season 3 hasn't finished production yet and hasn't aired. If he feels the need to end his involvement by the end for the season, then that's his decision. But the headline makes it sound like Season 3 is up in the air when that isn't the case.

Now, if they were to continue on without him, I could see either Tim Allen or Kelsey Grammer, but it doesn't sound plausible with Hulu not wanting the show to go on without him.

I'm starting to really miss The Orville. I was thinking about doing a rewatch during the Holiday time, but I think I might just do it after I rewatch Mandalorian (Which was going to be after Discovery). It's been so long since I've seen the show and I think I need more Orville in my life in 2020.

I wouldn't be against a season four without him. Promote David A. Goodman to showrunner and bring in a new character to introduce new dynamics.
While it might be possible for the show to go on without Seth MacFarlane as showrunner, it couldn't without him in the cast. The show at its core is all about Ed and Kelly. Either of them leave, the show might as well end.

Actors leave, I like the rest of the characters and the universe well enough that I’m not against it going on.

I feel the opposite. I would rather him stay as show runner even if it means leaving the character behind. I mean the show is kind of his brainchild and his vision and it's pretty uniquely tied to him because it's basically a chance for him to do Star Trek since he was such a big fan. The other writers are talented of course but I am not sure they have the same love so the show isn't really going to be as personal to them as it would be with MacFarlane.

I see what you mean, yeah. I agree. I understand that maybe he feels like he wants to do something else, but at the same time, being that it's so tied to him and his personality, it really wouldn't be the same without his vision. If it were to continue on without him, I'd at least want him in an executive producer position where nothing is being done without his approval.

I think the rest of the cast, and behind the scenes crew is strong enough to continue the show without McFalane.
