The One Thing You Could Change, Animated Series Edition...

I decided on a thought exercise for myself, and wanted to see what other people would come up with. I am going to do this for each series, except DISCOVERY and PICARD, as they are still currently in production.

Come up with only ONE thing you would change about a series. It can be something about a character, a storyline, or even something physical, like a different ship design. It can be anything you like, provided it would be used for more than just one episode.

For the Animated Series, I think I would have had Walter Koenig in. We could still have Arex, but Chekov was missed. To me, anyway. It was a family reunion with a member missing.

What do you all think?

Change that CRAPTASTIC music?? it was the same music used in the other animted series (including on tf the "Archie" series) created by the same company. It was HORRIBLE!! WHY couldn't they worked out a deal to use the TOS music for the animated series? It would of made the series more tolerable.

I think I do miss Chekov to be honest! He should have been in the show even if for a couple of episodes! :sigh:

I am in the minority and liked what Filmation considering the budget they had and I thought the scripts for the most part were pretty solid. The Filmation documentary on Youtube is a good watch.

Yes, missing Checkov is tops for me. And I know they couldn't do all of them and I did want some original shows but seeing some "what happened" or "return to" like "Omega Glory", "A Piece of the Action", "The Gamesters of Triskelion" for example.

Changing one thing? Hmmm. I like the idea of showing Captain April, but I wish they came up with another story besides "The Counter-Clock Incident" to have him in.

For the rest of it, it was a Saturday Morning Cartoon from the '70s. TAS was pretty good for what it was. The scene when the huge Tribble is rolling behind Koloth at the episode of "More Trouble, More Tribbles" feels like a little much, but then I think to myself, "What would I think if I were an eight-year-old in 1973?" I'd think it was pretty funny.

The same with "Spock Twoooo!" I can picture kids thinking "Let's play Star Trek!" and then one of them is "Spock Two". You have to put yourself in that mindset.

I love that they had an episode like "The Magicks of Megas-Tu" where they touch on the Salem Witch Trials, the Devil, etc. That's an episode that stands out to me even more than "Yesteryear".
