The one sad thing about DS9

I wanted the series after VOY to be about the post-Dominion War. Doesn't have to have all the same DS9 characters or even the same location.

Also, I believe that if they went beyond 7 years, they would have had to re-negotiate all of the contracts as well, and possibly lose cast members.

First off, I love all trek. But DS9 is was just a little more special to me. For me the saddest thing was that they didn't end it with Bajor becoming an official member of the Federation, unless i missed an episode-then i stand corrected. However if i didn't miss an episode concerning this, it made the finale bittersweet for me. I thought that was one of the major plotlines for the story. Don't get me wrong I like the war story, but it seemed that they brushed aside Bajor becoming offical federation members for the war story. Sure in the end Bajor is safe and i guess that was the point. But i would have liked a ceremony or something to solidify it.

Bajor was going to become a full member of the Federation. But, Sisko talked both sides out of the membership because he had one of those visions

It is sad that Bajor did not become a full member, maybe with the end of the war Bajor would become a full member. I hope so as I do like seeing Kira in a Star Fleet uniform

I thought that his would have made an interesting plot line for a movie or such.

The thing is, even by the show, Bajor was nowhere near ready for admittance. Any other like planet that would have so some many of the same problems would never have gained admission it's just that the Fed was desperate to usurp control of the Wormhole.

From an intrigue point of view, it would have been interesting to see how other's reacted--especially the Rommies & Cardies.
