My favorite guest star would have been a season five.
And a much more interesting part, I thought. I always felt the role of Vreenak could have been much better-written to take advantage of his skills -- as it was, a lesser actor than McHattie could have played it just as well.

I would like to have seen Djaimon Hounsou as a Starfleet captain or first officer. Matter of fact, still would.
James Woods as a Starfleet captain or commodore might have been nice. A good counterpoint to the more subdued and reserved Archer.
I do not care so much about the actor, but they could have had someone play a young Sarek living at the Vulcan compound-we know he always was interested in humans, and more open minded about them than other vulcans given that he married one. That would have been pretty cool. Perhaps the guy who played Vorik on VOY.

Sarek's Dad Skon, then? Maybe he did his translation of Surak's teachings to English at the Vulcan compound?
Guinan(Whoopi)could have shown up, seeing as she's at least 300 years old even in the ENTERPRISE era. You wouldn't even need Q unless you wanted to do the backstory to their longstanding feud from TNG.
If Bruce Campbell would have been a guest star, then ENT would have at least had a 5th season because of the sheer force of his awesomeness.

You know, having Whoopi Goldberg as Guinan pop up would have made perfect sense in bridging ENT with TNG.
