Someone out there has the Jesus Tap dancing Christ incident saved. Which ended up ending one mod's tenure if I remember correctly. Saw it reposted once.
Also the entire "Neutered Zone" incident, when Lisa made her changes to TNZ, including the lead up, the leaked BR threads, and the two or three threads in tnz about it. That was a real shitstorm.
That sounds about right. Although in PM's to me (I assume the statute of limitations has run out on disclosing this) he was clear he had another agenda. He was actually quite civil with me, and expected this outcome. He did not argue his warnings.
The man had a skill - he just pushed everyone's buttons so precisely. It's not so easy to have an entire forum in an uproar - with old-timer jaded posters getting as riled as anyone else...
If memory serves, Storm was drunk when he did that and did it on purpose, to troll.

A rather strange, but often entertaining poster who made a habit of never revealing their partner's gender, just to annoy Enterpriser.
Man... I miss Enterpriser... It was always amusing to watch people get pissed at him.

15 year old Fleet Captains would've been 5 when the board started and any that were around even at 2003 would only have been 9 years old... I didn't know we had any members that were ever that young. Even the youngest I can think of was 12 or so at the time he started. I suspect exaggeration is at work here.
No, no, that's not it. They've just never been exposed to me until the Trek XI forum.
My nerdly status is just far too low to post in fan fic and Babby 5 threads, so they've never met me.
And trust me, you have no idea the half of it unless you were a mod while all that was going on. Our accouts were hacked, the board was hacked and/or attacked, our personal information (or what they thought was accurate, anyway) was collected and posted on the internet, one or two of us had our identities, IM accounts, email accounts, etc stolen or hijacked...it was a horrible time to be on staff on this board.
That 2 -3 month period was the only time in the 6 1/2 years time I've been a mod that I felt 'under siege'. And I think that pretty much all the mods at that time felt that way.
Because we WERE under siege.
When you go to bed at night sick to your stomach over events transpiring on a Star Trek Message Board upon which you are a mod....somethin' ain't right.
Truthfully, I'll NEVER forgive some of the people I know to be behind some of that crap.
