The 'oldies' of TrekBBS reunite...

Technically, for me, it's been ten years, as I started lurking in 99. I registered for the first time a year later, and in 2001, I registered the nick I've been using since then.

All I'll say is that T'Bonz's rule has really quieted this place down. Board politics used to be be a twenty-four seven roller-coaster. From the trolls to the constant warning/ban policy changes...This place probably had more attempted coups than anywhere else on the net...

NO KIDDING! All that drama was so stimulating! The enemy board-that-shall-not-be-named, Skinofevil and Tshrike, the outing of Ms Tanaka - we took it all so seriously! And now it's all fond memories, well mostly.

But it is nice to have the board be a place where common sense now is the rule, not the exception. It's really a testament to the management, as well as the general makeup of Trek fans in general, that this board has lasted as long as it has. I suspect there aren't too many forums online that can boast the longevity and success of TrekBBS.

I remember posting a long diatribe against the trolls inside the mod lounge and then the trolls somehow broke into that and posted it for all to see. That was a bit of drama back then!

Well there was that Y2K scare that turned out to be nothing. I'm sure this board got a lot of threads on that at the time.

God I wish I found this place earlier rather than posting on sites like Yahoo and startrek.com. Would have saved a whole bunch of time looking for a cool place to talk to people who (At the time I thought) had the same interests I did.

Unbeknownst to all of you, this is Christian and Partsking is my dual so he's been here longer than any of you. There, the cat's out of the bag and some of you have some real 'splainin to do.

Anyway, this fake account has seen and participated in some crazy stuff over the years. I believe my first post with this dual was about making fun of Harry Kim and asking everyone if they thought he'd be good at karate or some shit. Can't remember. Then I moved on to participating in the made up political party wars as a member of the Rolleyes and then to the great Badger wars. Can't forget the fleet wars, either. Good times.

Sure is a real pleasure seeing the oldies poppin' in here. Some of you I haven't seen in years. YOU TOLD ME YOU'D NEVER LEAVE!!

I joined at the end of 2002 just in time to catch the whole T'pol/Jolene Blalock from Enterprise is a rubber doll/drug addict, stuff that as going on.

I joined this program for Enterprise. What I rememeber most about times back then was Stewey ripping Enterprise with every post, saying how much he hated it and that it was a waste of his time... which he would do with every single episode (which he watched) during its entire run.

Cool. But that must be on this new board only, they probably didn't port over all of the inactive accounts from the old board to the new one when they made the switch. Still, going from 6XX to 6X makes me an order of magnitude cooler... right?

I was thinking of Troll Kingdom, but honestly, I couldn't for the life of me remember its name while I was typing. Besides, I'm pretty sure there was a few months there where we weren't supposed to even mention TK.
