Maybe I'm missing something, but these two shots are different shots. On the right you can see the upper side of the secondary hull, which is not visible at all in the image to the left.
We do: "Late summer or early fall 2012."
I'd like to see the ships rescaled too.
But it doesn't look like they're doing that based on the Ent-D with the Hood shot.
Well the Excelsior was always accepted to be a bit bigger than the other 23rd century ships (and has such a different design), that it never really looked that strange to me being the same size as the Ent-D.
And looking at Probert's size chart on this page, it doesn't really look that far off from what we see on screen:

How well do you think they're going to be able to re-create the Enterprise-Nil bridge from TOS in "Relics"? In that episode only a portion of it was built as a physical set the rest we see was edited in from, I believe, the original series' film stills. I wonder how much better this process will look when done today.
Watching "The Emissary" right now and the panels covering the glares in the aft stations are very obvious. The Blu-Ray is going make this painful.
I know, I am really looking forward to that and Pegasus for those details.Booby Trap probably has the best music of the series and yeah the visuals in that episode should translate very nicely to HD.![]()
Prophets, I can't wait to see "Booby Trap" in HD. The asteroid field, the Enterprise shots, the holodeck set, everything. I'm just rewatching it right .

I wouldn't put it past them to replace those with LCARS displays, or just hiding them better on the HD release.
Especially if they really stand out.
The tracking software of today is very powerful.

Just so long as the asteroids don't look like the bunched up plastic shopping bags floating past Troi's window in "These Are The Voyages..."; they need to look like real rocks!
Andy did not simply plop the saucer and nacelles of the D on Excelsior. He tried to find a design which suggested an evolutionary step between the ships. You might not like the design, but it's not as you're characterizing it.Yeah I know this is probably sacrilege, but I've never really cared for the Enterprise-C design. Obviously it was cool getting to see an entirely new ship in that episode, but the design itself always looked a little too... short and dumpy to me.
Can't say I'm crazy about Probert's version either though. He basically just put the saucer and nacelles of the Ent-D on the Excelsior, and I just don't think it really works.
