The logic gaps that you gloss over, just to strengthen your idea that '09 film failed are so cute. It was an un-promoted replaying of a two year old film. And its playing to mostly empty theaters? Woopdido.
You realize that they padded the hell out of Dorn to make him more imposing, right? Or do you think his shoulders were really that broad?
I'm sure the CBS Home Video marketing team will have a few advertisements in home video/scifi/home theatre core demographic print magazines with advertisements.
As far as before & after clips I'm sure we'll have some great fans at TrekCore or TrekWeb or TrekMovie do them for us...
Yes we'll have more press though in December. I figure it will start up after December 25. And CES will be in full effect and maybe even if CBS has a electronics deal with a Blu-ray maker such as Panasonic they will be playing the TNG-R sampler on a Blu-ray player at CES in early January.

His face? I don't see any difference beyond the makeup and the glasses. How can you tell? Nor can I tell any difference in his body, what w/ that sport shirt he's wearing. I'll take the word of folks who've seen him in person.

I guess I'm so enthusiastic because I haven't really watched TNG since its original run. I've seen most of the episodes at least a couple of times but I don't think I've ever sat down to watch the show from start to finish before.
In the last few years I have really had the urge to rewatch what is probably my all-time favourite show but every time I go to watch it the lack of picture quality ruins it for me, especially now since all I have are HD TVs. I think this remastering will be like watching the show for the first time all over again. I can't wait!

I am just glad they are taking the time and care to remaster it in HD, it shows some respect for the material. Of course it is inspired by a financial goal, but look, not all shows of this era will get this treatment, it is a treat.
This won't change our lives, but after seeing the shows the same way now for 25 years, seeing in clear HD with some new effects replacing the old video effects will be fun!

Well I'm at the opposite end of the spectrum. I find the horrible video quality of the current SD transfers to be quite distracting and I barely watch the show anymore because of it. About the only time I watch TNG anymore is if I'm in a hotel and using the typical tiny hotel television where it actually looks pretty good (on my 42" set it looks horrible).
