Well my amazon status updated to "Shipping Soon," it's kind of irritating that I've had this preordered since November just to have my shipment delayed 2 more days.

I took advantage of the free Amazon Prime 2 day shipping during the holidays and mine shows shipped and is nearby in NJ right now. Seems like this was the only way from Amazon to get it on the release day? That is lame of them.

Okay. Based on my experience, you'll still get it tomorrow, on the release date - they'll probably ship it out today via overnight shipping.

Well, they didn't replace the Qo'noS matte in Sins, so it's 50:50. I'd hate to lose a Probert ...

Yeah I know, that's the thing. I would hate to be Probert and have all my hard work erased from what is most likely the only version of TNG that most people are going to watch from now on.

But who knows, maybe they can enhance the painting with CGI somehow. Or have Probert recreate it himself.

Not sure it needs replacing, it looked brilliant to me. You could even make out people walking around the great hall, which I'd never noticed before.

In the meantime, i suggest watching this episode of Reading Rainbow, on how they made TNG the first time, and it even shows why Remastering it is such a chore!

It's nearly 7pm here and I *just* got shipping confirmation on mine. Looks like it's coming out of Nevada. The only issue...I forgot to update my shipping info and it'll be going to my parents' house instead of mine. This may not be all bad, as my dad did just buy a new 55" Plasma and Blu-Ray system...
