I like what the creative team said in the audio-commentary: 'I think we should do a sequel.' :D

And, I too still think it's excellent.

LOL, there should be a rating above Excellent. Every aspect of it has grown on me. Watching the DVD was fantastic though it made me miss seeing it on the big screen quite a bit, I kept putting up the volume because I wanted the intensity of the opening scenes.

What concerns me with the sequel is, after listening to the commentary where they talk about the post-crefits sequence that they were considering doing, coupled with typical Hollywood expectations - is that there is likely a fifty fifty chance they will not be able to resist putting Khan into the next movie.

Perhaps. Khan is pretty iconic as far as villains go...
But they also said they dropped the idea of that post-credit sequence (showing the Botany Bay) because they didn't want to be limited in their options and alternatives.

I REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY (did I mention really), do NOT want to see Khan in the next movie (or any future Trek movie with this cast/crew). One of the most exciting things about how they approached this movie was to allow for the UNKNOWN. I will be very disappointed if they simply re-hash previous stories.

Oh, I'd love to see something new, original but I'd not be against a story including Khan.

I know many wouldn't mind or even like it. I'm just not one of them. Of course, I won't consider my childhood to have been raped if it is about Khan. I'll just go into it with an extremely sceptical eye.
