The official, new corridor shot thread!

Looks good, but I hope it's more well-lit in the film. I'm referring to the 'overall darkness' of the corridor, NOT the bright downlights.

Well, that picture is a bit better.

Anyway...I like the look. Looks much darker than TNG and VOY corridors.

And I like dark. :)

Nah, I doubt the new Enterprise is going to have corded phones, and speakers that look like they date from a 1930s serial on it like BSG.

That's funny you should say that...When I posted my comment that the corridor was lit too "harshly" (too dark with bright downlights), I was thinking specifically of The West Wing.

Around season 5 (when it started to suck), they must have got a new art director, because the White House suddenly became a dark and dreary place. However, at least the "dreary" lighting matched the mood of the episodes of TWW's seasons 5,6 & 7.

For this film to be optimistic in mood (such as the first 4 seasons of The West Wing), it needs to be well-lit, in my humble opinion.

If this is an Enterprise corridor, I like it. The lighting is a little weird, but that doesn't have to mean it'll stay that way. Could be anything, really.

But the design is nice.

Doesn't look much like an Enterprise hallway to me... *shrug* I agree with the above comments that it might be Klingon or something similar.

Meh! I don't care for it ... not because it's "not like TOS" but because it's too much like every other sci-fi corridor since TMP ... or Alien ... or The Abyss. It would be nice for them to have done something other than "typical sci-fi spaceship shorthand" for it. Durn it, I want my Star Trek to stand out from all the other homogenized, pasteurized, processed sci-fi food spread. I guess I'll have to stick with Stargate for distinctive corridor architectures. :brickwall:

I feel like Abrams is going for more realism and less art-deco/futuristic, so I think this could be the corridors for the Enterprise. The angles of the walls do bear some slight resemblance to the shape of the TOS and TMP corridors.

I quite like it. The lighting doesn't bother me at all, as it's actually more consistent with a vessel that has limited power generation capabilities . That's the one thing that always bothered me about TNG, Voyager etc, particularly Voyager - they were always banging on about having limited energy supplies and the need to conserve what little resources they did have, but every set was almost comically overlit. I find this approach of "functional lighting" to be quite refreshing for Trek.

If this movie is going to be darkly lit and full of shaky camera work then that's two big strikes against it, from my perspective.

There are EIGHT LIGHTS!

I'd bet credits to navy beans that's a corridor in the Enteprise, but it's not finished yet. It's all "under construction," after all.
