The official, new corridor shot thread!

[...] that must be an Enterprise corridor. What else would an NCC1701 construction website be displaying?
An Enterprise Jefferies tube?

So that's JJ's big exciting reveal - a Jefferies tube? And on the next hidden website, we see Kirk's bedside table...

It's a corridor, stop analysing and just look at it! :)

Light and shadows light and shadows light and shadows mood mood mood... just turn on the damn lights and shoot the movie. Limited energy supply my backside... they've got a warp reactor going once they get into space. The lighting in that corridor looks all pretentious and "stylistic" and silly. I am sick of "submarines in space."

You boys are desperate to see some Cage-style corridors and companionways aren't you? We are still clinging to that dreadful hope/fear that this is actually a prequel...

Hard heads make for sore behinds.

Simple explanantion usually being correct?

It's one of three things possibly.

In TOS, Kirk once talked about how they adjust the lighting to take into account "night".

On the construction dock, it's night.

The lights reflect the time of day.

Explanation two?

Being as how they're not fully constructed the lights are on in "maintenance" mode.

Explanation three?

The photos are of the Galactica.

:D

I like the image because one finally sees why the damn things were diamond shaped all these years- they have pipes running behind the lighted ribs. It shows the set designer is apeing the old designs but also trying to justify them for modern sophisticated [i.e. jaded] audiences.

since this is a prequil it makes since that the coridors would look different therefore the ship gets a refit before Kirk and once more after the 5 year mission and the the Enterprise-A besides it still could be under construction, which may involve a scene like the one in VOY. when the captian visits the ship before it's finished.

I don't know... the exterior of the ship looks like a pretty smooth and elegant and, above all, FUTURISTIC design. This corridor with all the exposed pipes doesn't seem remotely consistent with that.

I like the idea that the mechanicals are exposed in the walls, aping the design in TOS.

It allows more decks to be squeezed into the same volume because you're not taking up between-decks space with HVAC and, if you have to do damage control, the parts are easily accessible.

Good, sensible update.

Logically everything should be white or brightly colored, but who needs logic when we can make it look exactly like everything else produced in the last 10 years, using rediculous 'dramatic' lights. Hopefully this isn't an indication of the final corridor look.

As long as it's bright enough for people to navigate it without tripping over something, any light level above that is a waste.

If that were true, office buildings wouldn't have to buy nearly as many lightbulbs. Try spending 3 months in dark metallic corridors/rooms, then tell me how much of a waste a 60-watt lightbulb is.

honestly, I half expect this shot was made by a hacker who's laughing at us.
No, no... this shot was made by official Star Trek production staff... who are laughing at us.

While I'm sure someone will say "But we're not 100% sure!", I'd bet cash money in a heartbeat that this is not a Jeffries tube. I'm only marginally less certain that this is anything but an Enterprise corridor.

As for the lighting, that's easily changed and we shouldn't infer anything.

Well-designed but I think it's too dark. I think the original Enterprise corridors should be a lot brighter.
