I can't get up early and start drinking tomorrow if I stay up all night.

My roommate Sue is moving to LA in a couple weeks. She's pretty stoked about not having to go through another Iowa winter.

And yeah, the ice storms are pretty sweet. Sucks to drive in though.

Well if you drink alone, you're some sort of alcoholic. Oh wait ... Hmm, i don't like that word. Makes me look bad. I prefer the term "liquor connoisseur."

There are just no alcoholic drinks that I like well enough to drink casually by myself. If I'm drinking, I'm doing it to get drunk.

If I'm by myself and I'm thirsty, I'll have a glass of milk.

She's giving her van to her brother before she moves...so she's not even going to have a car. She's going to be a nanny for one of our friends out there though, so I don't know if she'll have to drive her car or what. She lives in some artist commune or something like that, in a silver bullet in the driveway, heh.

You pretty much need a car in LA. Our public transport sucks ass.

Well, we also have among the toughest emission standards in the country.

Hopefully she won't be living too far from work. My mom takes like, 3 buses to get to work. She doesn't wanna learn how to drive; it scares her.

After having my car out here for the last 5 years, I finally got the address on my vehicle registration changed, so I don't have to get the emissions tested anymore!

It was such a pain in the ass trying to squeeze that in anytime I was back in Chicago during holidays.

I don't get people who don't want to learn to drive. Even if you're not going to do it a lot, it's a pretty essential skill. Especially if you live in a place like Iowa where there's not much public transportation to speak of.

I brought my laptop into bed with me because I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep right away. My cat followed me and is sleeping right next to me. She looks really comfy, and I wish she would let me use her as a pillow.

Yeah, I actually like driving too...which fits perfectly with my new job as a delivery driver. My life is coming to a beautiful climax.
