Halloween is probably the only time of the year that all my friends go crazy about, so I'd probably have to be out of the country in order to not have anybody around.

Well I've been invited to two parties in Des Moines, but since I have no money and am starting a job as a driver where I have to use my own car soon, I can't afford the gas to get there, even though I'd probably be able to drink off whatever was provided there. My roommates (who, with me, are the biggest into Halloween of all my friends) are back home for their dad's wedding. Another friend is going to Ohio...and my other friends will probably be either at a bar (can't afford) or being lame and married at home. My ex is moving in with us, so he may be around...nothing like spending your favorite holiday with just your ex.

Ah well, at least I got to dress up last Saturday and have some fun...I was zombie Garth and my friend was zombie Wayne.

Well, if driving weren't an issue, I'd just tell ya to come to our party. I'm in the Quad Cities. Des Moines is probably closer to you, though.

Yeah, Des Moines is only like half an hour or so, depending on which part. Quad Cities is like 2 1/2-3 hours. Thanks for the offer though!

Are you actually on the Illinois side of the Quad Cities? Or just a really unobservant Iowan?

I'm originally from Chicago. I only moved to the Quad Cities to go to college, and I've lived on the Illinois side for the last 6 years.

I've been as far west as Des Moines (the farthest west I have EVER been), but that was only one time. I rarely make it farther west than Davenport; I just don't have reasons to travel through Iowa.

I'm a Illinois boy through and through.

That being said, I'm moving to Kansas City when my lease is up.

Really? I go on a pretty regular basis, and I like it. I've never run into any real crazies. Then again, I don't go around asking peoples political opinions, either.

I don't mind snow. I actually enjoy winter. I love the ice storms we get around here. They're creepy.

I need to visit CA, though. I've never been farther west than Iowa, and I really need to change that.
