The next Star Trek series should be on Netflix.

I've found that I prefer to watch TV series on Netflix. Even if I have to wait a season. In the last few months I've been re-watching older series I had trouble following week after week when they originally aired. Last year I re-watched all of DS9. I recently completed Enterprise now I'm on Voyager. And they're not making cringe as they used to. I've watched other TV series including Netflix only series.

So what is the possibility of Netflix convincing CBS to produce a new Star Trek series to air on Netflix?

If the money was right, simply as that.

To CBS Television, Star Trek is just a commercial product.

It would be awesome. Netflix seems to be the new place to give genre shows a shot, sort of like Fox back in the day.

Netflix has really turned to shit the last couple years. A new Trek series would be something on Netflix to watch other than Sharknado and Sharknado 2, so I'd be all for it.

I drew a comic strip about that exact thing. I couldn't stand Voyager or Enterprise when they first ran. But when I binge watched them on Netflix last year (only because I ran out of other stuff I wanted to watch), I found I really enjoyed them. The Voyager finale was actually exciting this time. The entire Xindi arc on Enterprise was actually thrilling, instead of mind-numbingly dull (as I thought it was at first).

Watching it all at once with no commercials really helped make it feel more immersive and entertaining. I doubt Paramount or CBS or whoever has the rights to tv Trek would ever go the Netflix route, but I wish they would.

What? The last couple years they've had House of Cards and Daredevil. They have Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and The Defenders coming. They added Farscape and a lot of other shows. I can't ever find any movies I want to see anymore, but their TV show selection has gotten to be pretty good.

Er, Netflix didn't actually produce those shitty Sharknado movies though, did they? I think the OP is talking about Netflix actually producing the show.

finally a new idea to save Tr- oh wait
