Is there a rule that says the Doctor's companion needs to be a girl? No! I think it would be fun to have Craig tag along in the TARDIS for a season. I realize he has a baby at home, but we can figure a way around that. It could just be a season of fun adventures without anybody falling in love or getting too emotionally attached...like a big, long Man Date!

Who/What do you want to see for the Doctor's next companion?

A guy would be nice, for a change, but I don't want it to be Craig. Someone more scientifically minded or gung-ho might be nice.

I tend to think we should have a male companion s well, but its going to be a human female of some type.

A male companion could be nice, but not Craig. He's nice for an occasional appearance or two. Rex would make an interesting travel companion with the Eleventh Doctor I agree it'll be another female companion. That seems to be the trend for New Who thus far.

I want the Doctor's Daughter as the next companion. Just think... hot chick but no romantic tension! Also, I'd like River as a full time companion.

Jenny would make for an interesting companion. I don't think it would ever happen though.

I would like a companion that corrupts the doctor. Makes him in little ways kill the people he's saving.

i'd put money on it being a pair of companions. Moff's said he likes having 2 people who can stand there and discuss how odd the Doctor is.

what about the kids from The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe? they might make for interesting companions as adults. they would be adults in the 60s and could live through some classic episodes like The Web of Fear and The Invasion and then the Doctor would just show up and say, 'oh yeah, forgot about you lot. come on!'

^^^ You are probably right. At least in the past the Doctor took companions from a wide span of history and included a few non-humans.

Indeed. I am getting pretty tired of contemporary Earth companions. If it has to be an human companion, can we at least get one from a different time period, past or future. Two of my favorite companions are from each of those (Leela and Jamie). Don't give me the whole "the audience won't be able to connect with them!" bullshit because I certainly connect more with Leela than I ever will with Rose.
