It's regenerated backwards, all the way to 1963!

Good finger twiddling action Matt!

He should take a look at that loose panel, don't want that falling off in the Vortex.

Will have to see how it looks properly lit, seems a bit obviously prop-ish here. Good to see the St. John's Ambulance logo back though (yes, I know it was on the CGI TARDIS in the opening credits).

See, I'm getting a little annoyed at Smith's outfit now. It was sort of growing on me, but the second picture has actually put me right off it.

He looks like a geeky student, not a nine hundred year old Time Lord.

Hmmm doesn't look as 'real' to me... i'm sure it will look great on camera though.

What does a 900-year-old Time Lord look like then? ;)

I think that whole "geeky" look is not only perfect for The Doctor, but perfect for Moffat. He has literally said in interviews that he's the guy that likes to write the 'geek-getting-the-girl' stories. So, guess what? :techman:

im sorry but WHAT? that looks like one of those fake TARDIS you see around which are really a police call box, and nothing to do with the TARDIS, this is going to take some getting used to.

Don't sweat it, man. You know it will look much better on-camera...

First impressions (with the proviso that it could look much better on film):

1) don't like the black & grey windows
2) paint job looks too newish, making it look like a big toy
3) not sure I like the white window frames
4) this isn't really a problem, but is the lamp on top bigger now?

It's very clean, isn't it?

There's something I don't get about the two pictures: the TARDIS actually looks larger to me, relative to the actors when they're standing in front of it and closer to the camera than it does in the second shot when it's closer than the Doctor.

Jokes about "bigger on the inside" aside, does it look this way to anyone else? I'm sure it's an illusion of perspective that I'm not getting...

It does look almost "too new", then again these are fairly candid shots without how it's going to be lighted in the show itself taken into effect.

What I am fascinated by is how new it looks, including with the St. John's Ambulance logo on there. With the Doctor regenerating, does the TARDIS do so as well? Perhaps after a great deal of damage is done to it? I think at this point we can also assume there's a new control room within.

I prefer the outfit in these pictures, though I wish the trousers weren't as dark. It's very Troughton-esque.

at this point I am fully expecting a new control room, im thinking something like the 8th Doctors TARDIS.

that or another underwhelming affair as ive come to expect from Moffatt ;)

I thought it looked too big to begin with, but looking back at some screencaps of the old prop I see I was wrong... I think mentally you expect the windows to be level with the actors' heads, but they aren't.

Also, it's going to be shot in HD. So a higher level of "gloss" is needed, I'm certain. It should balance out with the lighting and overlays during broadcast...
