Who cares really. This is turning out to be the best incarnation of the many different Klingons we've seen.

Agreed.... for the first in like forever, Klingons are truely scary, threatening, alien and downright cool....! And yes: I do think JJ really was laying down some fundamental groundwork for this in STID... I know not everyone 'digs' them the way I do, but hell: I dig them!

Each to bit has me more excited for the new Klingons. They're quickly becoming my favorite part of the new look. (Though I still think the communicator or tricorder are pretty fantastic).

Has anyone seen the new Klingon promo on Facebook? What's all this stuff about "cell by cell"??

Yeah, I was wondering about that too. It does make me wonder if the new look is do to some kind of mutation, either from the Augment Virus, or even something they did to themselves in order to make themselves "more Klingon". Really all the new design is is a more extreme version of what we've seen before, so I could see it as the result of an attempt to be more Klingon.
Maybe that's what the main conflict for the Klingons will be the Klingons we've seen, who are obsessed with making themselves "more Klingon" and another group who are closer, at least in behavior if not appearance, to what we've seen in the other shows.

I guess I'm weird, because I'm a huge fan of the TNG era Klingons, and so far I'm loving everything we're seeing of the DSC Klingons. I still don't think we have enough details to know whether or not there is a way to have the DSC Klingons and the TOS Klingons and the TNG+ Klingons all in the Prime Universe. Hell, based on what we know I'd say the DSC Klingons are closer to the TNG+ Klingons than TNG+ are to the TOS Klingons, both in personality/behavior and appearance.

A new news article has been published at TrekToday:

A short video promoting Star Trek: Discovery was released today; this one featuring the Klingons. “They are coming,” says a Klingon voice,...

Without being able to see the FB video myself, perhaps it's referring to cells as in small groups of fighting political factions, or whatnot. Maybe the Empire is more fragmented than we thought. And somebody is going to unify them, "cell by cell."

No. It says "Atom by atom"* and "cell by cell."

*(That really doesn't make sense from any perspective I can think of.)

Amazing!!!!

Agreed. Interest is definitely stoked.

Correct me if I'm wrong, though, but wasn't there a rumor going around that the Klingons on DSC would always be speaking their native language, and would never be heard in English? Or am I (once again) misremembering?

A group of pure blooded Kilingons. Seeing their species splintering with the augment virus, a perception of cultural dilution, and the growing influence in the quadrant of the Federation. Sounds like a great premise if the detail goes into the past trek references.

Didn't the team once say that in an allegory to today, the Klingons are the Americans?

What if they view the Federation as multi-culturism. Foreigners influencing the Klingon Empire. And this guy is basically Trump, capturing the hearts and minds of Klingons rising up against this threat. Which thanks to something that Burnham does, leads to the Federation-Klingon war starting?

The Augment virus would be a key factor in the reasoning behind hating the humans? Could be seen by the Klingons as their 9/11 event. A key event that changed the Klingons.

More likely I am overthinking it!
