The New Enterprise in 3D! ... NOW FINISHED (threads merged)

Do you have higher resolution versions of those, without the thing in the front? Those may look interesting.

They are just cut from judexavier's Enterprise image, ask him for a bigger original.

EDIT: Go here for more Kelvin references, they now have a full 360 rotatable version. https://boldlygo.intel.com/content/index.html
Yep, I saw that today. A new Kelvin is actually in progress.

While I am playing around...

And a 1280x1024 here:

Ooops. I deleted the old psd's with all the layers... I don't think they were accurate anyway. Heck you could probably use a big jpg of a turbine blade assy. If you could do a "refractive"/distorting shiny glass dome material, it might resemble some of the pics we've seen.
I think the caps you've done look fine, with the lightning effect.

Wow...just wow. You guys amaze me with your talent. I mess around with Sketchup and Paint.net and even old Paint, but this is amazing. Reminds me of an old poster I had back in the day of the E-D, the original Enterprise, and the E-A. I had it framed and it hung on my wall proudly for many years, right above my bed. Anyway, if you guys ever offer this as a high-quality poster, count me in. -Dan

Which one is the new movie version? They look a lot alike...
Thanks. :) You almost have to take a double take, don't you?

I have a model of the Refit that I built a while back, I should make a few with all 3 versions. :)

@Johnnymuffintop...
Which parts do you mean again? I had a work in progress model of that particular ship, but it got put on hold a while ago. :)

I mean, you could get the New Enterprise a more retro feel if you put the Gabe deflector dish on the new ship. You know release a small pack. Including the Gabe deflector, then maybe a refitted new design, with the deflector inside the engineering hull and new warp nacelles styled like TMP. (Which I can draw up a new design)

Oh, I see what you mean. Sure, if you want to draw something up, go on and send it to me. I'll see what I can do. :)

Anyone have any theories about what the scoops under the Bussard collectors do?

My guess is that's where the hydrogen particles actually get "scooped" in. The glowy-bits that we traditionally think of as the bussard collectors just generated the magnetic fields that attracted the particles to the ship.

Yep, I think that's the same function those gray rectangles on the bottom of the TOS ship were supposed to do, also. At least I think it was retconned that way. :) There is some dirty exhaust looking stuff right behind them.

Wow, cool thread! I was wondering when people would start rendering the new ship. Can't wait to see how this all progresses. :)

Okay, I was having issues with getting the image of my SL version here, and seeing as I can't edit my old post to fix the problems, let's call this take 2.

Now folks should be able to see the image, I hope.

However, I'm thinking of redoing it a bit to match the updates in this thread, or at least get closer to what folks seem to be agreeing on how it looks.

What software are you using for this?
