Ummm...guys, what are you talking about? I don't follow.
Yeah, I think they forgot to show the subtitles at the bottom of the screen.

Uh...basically, in my tale "A Rendezvous With Destiny"* , I establish that Ezri's name (given to her by her father) comes from the Trill word Ihs'ree, which is the name of the brightest star in the night sky. Literally, it's "Star Of The Evening", or something like that, because it's the first to appear in the night sky over Trill.
ares has been using that term in his fanfic universe as a nod to my work.
*(It's posted here on the BBS, in case you're wondering. The tale is basically my written "look" into who and what Ezri is as a character--how far she's come by the time of her captaincy, and what she needs to overcome.
It has a nice "guest star", too. I think you'll LOVE who it is....)
yup, the Ihs'ree is the name of Julian's and Ezri's private shuttlecraft. and the reason why i want to implement is because Julian had created a sort of DNA lock to prevent theft. so only Ezri and Julian could pilot it. that means now that they're dead, only Sulira and Perjon can operate it.
and you're are right, i've always referred to the SS Ihs'ree as the Evening Star but its formal name remains the same. now we dont have to use the name, but the vessel is already in the story and you guys had no objections.
maybe she's assigned to repair one of the shuttles and comes across the Evening star in the shuttlebay. terribly curious of what kind of ship it is, she powers it up just by stepping into the craft (the DNA lock). she sees the original name of the ship (Ihs'ree) in the cabin about the same time Perjon walks in for a routine diagnostic. that's how they find out who they are. (yes i know, terrible grammar the last sentence...)
and i do recommend Rushbo's stories. not just rendezvous with destiny. Rushbo has a talent with the pen... uhm... keyboard.damn good piece of literature.
Yeah...that could work! Although...we have to establish exactly why and how it ended up on Valon's ship.
(And...of course, this is a kind of seperate universe from yours and mine. So, I think we'd better use the English term as the primary name...perhaps the Trill name underneath, in Trill lettering?
hey. credit, where credit is due.(sheepish chuckle) Thanks!![]()

well, i was thinking its Perjon's "smuggler-ship" and he took it aboard when he accepted the XO position. how perjon got a hold of it is another matter. that's up for grabs.
any ideas about the Trill language? i'm thinking german or icelandic style letters. " Íhs'réé " / " Íhs'ræ "
well, that didnt say anything to me. gibberish. frankly i have more luck with chinese. but if you can, knock yourself out.Yeah...remember, I used, as the show did, English lettering for the Trill words. Remember, the actual Trill lettering consists of triangles with sqiggles inside.
From Memory Alpha:

hmm, that a good idea about the plaque. we need a new name then.Also...again, I recall Perjon was going to be supressing Ezri's memories (or else Ezri was suppressing herself). So...you think the ship should have a "new" name he put over the old, and Sulira stumbles on the old dedication plaque?
Just thinking....
I have a ton of Ezri pics, if you'd like me to chip in.![]()
yes, i got that. thats why i said that you could knock yourself out. if you can decrypt which one is I, h, s, r and e, go ahead. but i'd stick with some sort of phonetic style writing. On the Trill lettering...as I said before, the show used for the closed-captioning English letters for pronouncing the Trill words.![]()
Here you go! (The last one is kinda "bright", but still....)

Work your magic, my friend!![]()
Okay, I understand.
Tiberius...you wanna crack at it?
As for Lucas Bryant...could work. Let's see how Tiberius thinks....
^Ah, think nothing of it. I was a little exhausted myself then, too.
As for the box...yeah, I noticed that. I'll probably clean it out tonight.![]()
Well, Davis isn't a character per se. I haven't done much of a characterization on him. The name itself in an honor to a late friend of mine. (sig.) And i found it appropriate to name the helmsman Andrew Davis since the "real" Andy was a pilot. I like Bryant so if you guys don't object i'd like to have him. And about NdB, well i dont know. maybe you're right. but she's our best shot right now.Hi guys, sorry, I was away this weekend. I'm back for now...
I'm not certain it's feasible to 'de-age' NdB to cast her as Sulira, but I'll give it another try. Bryant is alright with me though I had pictured Davis younger. But you came up with the character so it's totally up to you, ares.![]()
Thats what i've been playing with too. Maybe being around Valon makes him suppress more and more of Ezri's memories.I've been doing some writing/thinking about Davis and his backstory/characterization, let you know when I get somewhere. The whole Ihs'ree ship sounds cool to me, as does Perjon deliberately suppressing Ezri's memories...maybe he's only trying to suppress the painful memories or the ones he wants to forget but can't hold back and ends up suppressing more than he intended to. That's why he doesn't remember Valon.
^Better, and better.
Now--Ezri was in her early 20's in DS9. I would imagine Sulira as around that--assuming she went to the Academy for four years.
Thus...if we are just going to re-cast Miss deBoer, I would, again, recommend using the pics of her as Ezri--or perhaps, as you two have suggested, pics of her from "Cube" (in which she played a teenager), or maybe from "Mission Genesis", or any of her other early roles.
Whichever ones come up clear. And as I said, Tiberius, I posted a handful of Ezri pics on the last page.![]()
Here's a rough work-in-progress of Sulira...

Changed the hair a bit, darkened the eyes and skin tone, moved the cheekbones around, made the lips less full, made her eyes bigger...a bit too big I'm afraid and removed the conspicuous but not unattractive mole above her lip. So now it's Sulira, not Ezri. What do you think?
I dunno...she looks kinda...unimpressive. (Maybe it has something to do with the cheekbones--or, more likely, the eyes being too high up. It makes her face look kinda long.
but it seems as if something's gone, as far as "feminity" is concerned....)
One thing more concrete: the hair seems a little off. It looks a little bit like a wig. Perhaps if you were to adjust it a bit...and then lengthen it, the whole "scale" would look better...? After all, Ezri's face was perfectly suited for short hair. Many girls need it long, to provide a "scale" appropriate for their kind of looks.
(Do that first: make it shoulder-length, and adjust its relation to the head. Make it "fit" better. Then we can see if her cheeks or eyes need changing.)
