The New Avengers Cartoon Was Just On!

I was just channel flipping, and at 8:30pm tonight on Disney XD they were airing the new Avengers cartoon! I thought this thing was a year away! It was actually just a five minute preview but it was a full scene from the show, and it wasn't even listed in the tv listings!

It showed Iron Man fighting some Hydra goons on his own. I guess this was the first scene of the pilot or something. The guy was doing a passable Robert Downey Jr impersonation. Nothing plot wise happened just IM fighting some green meanies.

The animation looked very good. Looked as good as Spectacular Spider-Man.

It said it premieres Wednesday October 20th.

Stark voice is obviously trying to imitate Robert Downey J and the same thing with Pepper and Gweneth Paltrow.

With that said I hope this is Marvel's version of DCAU

I gather it's not a preview but a "microseries" of short episodes introducing the various characters one by one, as a prologue to the regular half-hour Avengers series.

Avengers will premiere on Disney XD on October 20. They're supposed to do a week's worth of mini-episodes starting October 11 during the prime time blocks (they'll feature origin stories for the heroes and other background info), but it almost sounds like what you saw tonight was a mini-episode.

A schedule of the rollout over at comicbookresources.com

Comicbookmovie.com has a list of the micro-episodes release order plus you can watch the Iron Man clip as well.
Anyhow, Marvel.com will be releasing more mini episodes introducing Earth's Mightiest Heroes, daily up to the October 20/ And according Toonzone, will be released in this order:

Iron Man is Born!
The Coming of the Hulk
The Man in the Ant Hill
Hydra Lives!
Thor the Mighty
Behold, the Mandroids!
Hulk Versus the World
The Siege of Asgard
Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
This Monster, This Hero
My Brother, My Enemy
The Isle of Silence
Enter the Whirlwind
Meet Captain America
The Red Skull Strikes!
If This Be Doomsday!
Welcome to Wakanda
Lo, There Shall Come a Conqueror
Beware the Widow's Bite
The Big House"

Can't wait to watch these roll out. I only hope that the mico episodes aren't all just segments from the 2-episode back-to-back premiere. Probably more likely they are segments from the first several episodes.

^^ Banner reminds me of Bruce Jones' run

I also liked Marvel.com airing a Superman/Batman ad before the clip.

I just caught up with the micro-eps at marvel.com. I can't wait for this show to premiere, and hope that the micro eps are, at the very least, released with the S1 DVD's.

I get that Nick Fury is black now, but if he isn't going to be Samuel L. Jackson, couldn't we at least get some gray in the hair?

This is amazing I watched the first seven micro eps,and I'm looking forward to the series when it ars on October 20th.

Signed

Just saw a tv spot for the series on Teletoon and am very much looking forward to the series along with "Young Justice".

I noticed that the musical leitmotif for Iron Man in his "micro-episode" was the same theme used in Iron Man: Armored Adventures, even though that's presumably a separate continuity.

I'm a Marvel comics fan from pretty way back (started collecting in the 1970ies as a 10 year old kid; but at that time was getting the stuff from the mid 1960ies too); and I have to say, FINALLY, a version of the Hulk I've wanted to see on screen for a LONG time - the intelligent (not scientifically mind you), but a version that's not the 'gentle, misunderstood, child-like Hulk that the character became as the years progressed. This is the original, very early 'Astonishing Tales' Jekyll/Hyde type Hulk, and I like it.

Best line in the micro episode 7 - after the Absorbing Man absorbs the rockface and boasts about it, the Hulk smiles and says: "Hulk smash rock, Einstein."

Looking forward to the show as well.

Actually, after battling The Grim Reaper and Baron Strucker in todays micro-ep, Nick Fury: Agent of S.H.E.I.L.D., Fury does indeed have gray in his hair.
