Spoilers The NCC-82893 Thread

It's not a spoiler, any more than Q, Guinan, the new 10 forward, or a ton of other things showcased in the trailers and promo material, all which legit got their own appropriately titled threads, for people to hype and discuss, soon after they were shown and announced.

Like those, the Stargazer is an active visual and narrative part of their ongoing promo campaign, no different than those others, yet the one single element you isolated as a "spoiler"? Can we please change the Stargazers thread title back. ;)
I agree with @KennyB 's decision here. The thing to keep in mind about spoilers in thread titles is that they can be seen on the main page, by people who aren't even coming into the forum. It's best to err on the side of caution when putting a potential spoiler in such a prominent place.

Rios wasn't forced out of Starfleet. He willingly resigned.
Lets say he was ordered from above to cover up the events of the Majid, then aggressively compelled to resign = discharged with supposed post-traumatic dysphoria

Also he kept everything from when he served, and ran his ship that way, is what Picard sensed about him, was a guy who despite the gruff exterior he put out there, missed serving, and being a part of something bigger than just himself, and Starfleet provided that. And although he moved on, It was a big part of his life he lost.

I meant, why? What made him return to the fleet? He didn't seem like the type who would. Especially after what happened that made him leave in the first place.

Also when Picard first came on board, not only did he sense it, despite Rios outwardly feigning disdain and disinterest, his 'own EHH sensed the opportunity he was looking for to serve under a Captain again.
Rios' whole arc was having Picard and the makeshift crew gave him an opportunity to feel like he was serving (and mattered) again., despite himself.

As described Rios may be looking for a different kind of closure with Statfleet, than the way it went down.

That said this might just be another "second opportunity" illusion set up by Q.

The design looks great.Hopefully they adjust the visual effects for warp travel too. I miss the old visuals instead of that hyped up effects they used on DSC.

Has it been stated what class of starship the new Stargazer is?
I've got an idea! They should make it Picard-class. The series Firefly takes place on the Firefly-class ship Serenity, so when Patrick Stewart leaves the show it'd make perfect sense to have many more seasons of Star Trek: Picard aboard the Picard-class ship Stargazer!

I had thought of that but I cringe at them naming a class after a living person.

We're not in the Discovery future with its bizarre futuristic registry suffixes yet!

I love these months right before a new Trek series or movie comes out, where we get to piece together what the new ship's going to look like from behind the scenes videos, clips, and occasionally chairs.

I wonder if anyone's started making a 3D model of it yet.

As I posted in another thread, the FX crew told an intern "Don't forget to add an 'A' to the registry", and the intern heard "Don't forget to add an '8' to the registry". Due to budget constraints, it was what it was.

I went from laughing at this to thinking… “surely not?”

I'm sure they had a discussion about it. Discovery adds letters to everything, even a U.S.S. Excalibur-M is in the background of an episode. But with TNG vets on board PIC, I'm sure they'll continue doing things the old fashioned way, which is a shame cos I was fascinated by the U.S.S. Yamato NCC-1305-E when I was a child.

Well, Picard does take place in the olden days! Makes sense to do things the old fashioned way to me. It'd be a shame to drop one of the few things that separates Star Trek's 'present day' from its 'future'.

If I was running Discovery I'd totally have a NCC-1305-E appear at some point though.
