The name of the Man in Black ***Spoilers up to Across the Sea***

They said in an interview they'll never reveal the name, which pisses me off. You mean to tell me in all the centuries this guy never gave himself a name? How does he refer to himself in his thoughts? It's the same thing with the Others never being named. It's just ridiculous. They have to call themselves SOMETHING. :p

His name is "Haddacall". Hey, they haddacall him something!

Okay, so what if they had stated that his name was Samuel? What then?

I'm still glad they kept it out of the show. It's cooler this way, IMO.

It was just a fun mystery. The revelation of his name meant nothing to the story so they didn't bother.

I think it meant something to some people though. Given all its teasing, I think the writers eventually went meta and just decided to make him a character like Morn.

To me it doesn't really matter, but I'm slightly annoyed when I have to think about what I'm going to call him.

It has grown on me as well. As for "What then?" it simply would've been that there would be a consensus on what to call him and that's all.
