The Muppets (2011)

I finally watched the most recent trailer, and I'm not excited about it. Kermit sounds terrible, and it just seems like sappy retread of past movies.

That said, I will be in the cinema the day this is released, and I hope to be proven wrong. But I have loved most of the recent Muppets movies, so I hope this doesn't disappoint.

Does anyone else find it strange the Jason Segel and the Muppet in front of him are wearing the exact same clothing?

Great poster, btw.

Christophe Beck who is perhaps famous around these parts for composing both "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" will be composing the score for "The Muppets"!

Has anyone seen this video of OK Go performing the Muppet Show theme? It's quite good. I saw them performing this on the Tonight Show last night to promote the movie, and it was epic. One of the best things the Tonight Show has ever done recently.

The song itself is terrible (ye gods), but that's one of the most charming YouTube videos I've seen in a while.

Terrible musically, or the song in general? It's the original Muppet Show theme... how can it be terrible? :p

The Muppet Show theme, on its own, is absolutely wonderful.

As interpreted by OK Go ... it is not good.

Then again, a mediocre song saved by a great video is kind of OK Go's modus operandi.

Ahh, gotcha then. I can see what you mean, but then I like this interpretation of it. It was even better performed live on the Muppet Show, with Animal at the drums. As a video, I can agree that it doesn't quite work though, but I think the spirit of the song comes through just fine. The guy with the long beard even somewhat looks like a Muppet

Yeah, the live performance had much less of that going on, and I felt it was pretty spot on, moreso than in this video. Less is more, sometimes.

While the inclusion of the Muppets in the video is cool and clearly the band was having fun, the remix is pretty terrible.
