The Muppets (2011)

That is awesome. As for the song, they're probably singing their parody version or at least the clean version. I like how they play on the fact that there hasn't been a Muppet movie in years.

This looks genuinely hilarious. Kermit actually sounds like Henson, they all sound great. I will be seeing this one in theaters.

"Wokka Wokka." "You've been replaced!"  This looks fantastic. The first trailer still makes me laugh, too. "Jason Segel. Amy Adams. Kermit the...Frrrog." Can't wait!

Were those chickens seriously singing "Fuck You" in a Muppet movie? :wtf:

Well, it's more "Forget You," the radio-friendly cut. Also, they were clucking it. ;)

That bit is actually the only thing I've seen in this movie's build that I've disliked. Part of the beauty of Muppet humor is that it's timeless. Randomly inserting "Forget You," even with the cleverness of the chickens clucking it, is something that reeks of Shrek -- when Puss in Boots starts singing "Livin' La Vida Loca" at the end of Shrek 2, the song was barely relevant back then, and the whole gag is absolutely meaningless now. Unless the song becomes a cultural zeitgeist out of nowhere, having "Forget You" in the movie is just going to date it, horribly.

^More than having them perform vaudeville-era novelty songs and the like on The Muppet Show? Heck, the Muppet classic "Mahna-Mahna" was originally written for an Italian softcore porn film.

I am kind of hoping that the "Fuck/Forget You" was just for the trailer and won't appear in the actual movie.

That's right. The Muppets would never, ever feature current music that is later seen as dated. Not ever.

The music of "Fuck You" is deliberately retro Motown, so hypothetical future viewers unfamiliar with the song probably wouldn't instantly associate it with 2011 anyway.
