I will start the Final Round by giving a point to "BOUND". It had a nice twist about Orion culture. And the episode was NOT boring. All the others left are either boring, a cheap copy of an episode from another series, or just abysmal.

Well, we can say whole ENT is dominated by big three similar to TOS and it is normal Archer+Trip+T'Pol often involved in good/bad stories. Nevertheless, it is clear something went wrong with Trip and Hoshi focused episodes according to this list. What do you think? Shall we discuss it in this thread or begin with the new one?

My vote this round goes to "EXILE". I agree, it was a dull episode, not bad... though dull in the entertainment industry can mean exactly that. Plus... it's honestly the only episode left that isn't terrible or insulting.

I agree, the other 5 here I think could all be worthy co-winners, and "Exile" is a hair better. I enjoy the riddle of: why is this castle with a single occupant entirely lit by torches? Does he go around and light them all himself all the time? Who supplies the candles? Are the candles all just one of Tarquin's illusions, and they are actually walking around in the dark the whole time?

I dunno, for my money Mayweather is the one where every time he comes to the fore, the episode fails. The only one that kind of escapes that curse is "Detained." There are a lot of lousy Trip episodes, but I think that's more a function of Enterprise being a show that is (at least) half lousy episodes, and with Trip being one of the most featured leads...

Hoshi I think gets tripped up the same way Troi and Beverly always did on TNG, the writers had trouble imagining her in anything that wasn't an insipid Lady Story. The best example being that hideous B plot in "Silent Enemy"...

I'll save Exile, with it's slightly decent romance.

Yes, Vanishing Point is a mediocre rehash of The Next Phase for sure, but I don’t think its reputation would be anywhere near as bad if not for its ending.
